The way you got to think about it is what’s the price tag on your life. Been looking around 1600 isn’t too much money to what you’ll be paying for medical costs down the road. End of the day everyone wants to retire and enjoy it. Not to end up dying from cancer due to all those fumes and steel dust you’re inhaling 🤷🏾♂️

100% worth the money! You will notice a difference in your productivity and they way you feel during and after your shift. I have nothing but good things to say. Absolutely aesthetic after using a Miller Digital elite for three year, gone are the days of magnetic snot. 11/10

Good welders cant afford to work with poor equipment. Starts to reduce productivity and quality as well as strain the worker. I worked att company that almost never bought new tools or stuff when even when u rly needed it. i Could tell that buying them would have doubled or tripled the productivity so it was costing the company lot of money even tho the owner didnt admit it.

Best I've ever bought and used, for heavy duty welding like I do, say multiple passes with a 500amp warrior, this mask makes the job real easy, I need to grind or buff in between passes, flick the sheild up and work away, while still getting good air, I'm 25 years at the game now and honestly this is the best there is, sure there is others that almost do the same, but this one pips them all, the hours fly by cause this mask makes it so easy, top job speedglas
If you wore this mask for an 8 hour shift welding constantly would you still have black snot at the end of the day? Im interested in welding but dont really wana do it if even with a mask like this youd inhale crap.

@Will Swift If you don't know what spatter is like imagine taking a leak wearing flip flops and shorts but its liquid metal. Creating a perfect, affordable barrier from that that is comfortable is apparently impossible because the choice seems to be one or two of the above.
As someone who is thinking about welding but is worried about the long term health defects, this is pretty cool and I’d totally pay for something like this
get a 6501 3M respirator and use the 2097 filters ( or the specific welding ones) and you should be decently protected. snug it up real tight and you should come home with hardly any weld soot in your nose. this helmet and flo-pack can be cumbersome at times and in my opinion can (in some scenarios) fail to block the gasses coming up by your neck and chin if you do not have the NON-INCLUDED accessories which "block" them.
just something to think about. its decent piece of equipment. the filters are not cheap.
When will 3m solve the problem of built in Bluetooth speakers for music inside the helmet. Whoever does this gets my money

Is the battery more secured? I had adflo 9100MP And a slide lean onto something it would disconnect from the belt or fall and break I went through 3 batteries in one year.

I've got this one and I'm wondering why this filter don't fit into the 9100FX. This filter is better then the x-xxxi filters, but the helmet itself, I prefer the 9100 fx. The G5 is lighter, but not so easy in use. Today I fit the led system on it. Also not that easy, because you need to drill 3 holes. Thats tricky. It can go wrong, and then your no longer able to fit the inside part of the led light into the helmet. You can destroy the holders with de driller.

How much lighter is it? I had the 9001 and the 9100 both were super heavy not to mention lens are expensive.
@@seekandsave1126 so the g5 can not go backwards to the 9100. the g5 is about 50grams lighter. All respiratory helmets will be "heavy" compared to a non-respiratory helmet.

Gran pantalla!! Pero el día q 3 m fabrique una pantalla para soldar tubería en sitios reducidos, veremos! De momento en la industria del naval, no existe una pantalla ligera, de reducido tamaño q valga para espacios confinados de reducidas dimensiones,!!
So, other than the lense (with its gimmicks, as who exactly needs a bloody phone app😄) what exactly is the difference between this and a 9100fx with adflo?
Also is this another like the 9100v, x and xx filters, ie ot doesnt work well at all when tig welding, flashes all the time?
should have improved electronics for more stable TIG. But DC tig with 240hz these days are a struggle for lots of welding helmets. The variable color is a world first, and the air flow adjustment has been a huge feature. Rumors are to upgrade the ADF for christmas 2023 to have better light state!

Sorry to inform you but i have this mask at work and it is not as good as the 9100 fx. Bottom part is cracked already,and yes i work in an shipyard so it is not heavy duty. Get the 9100fx instead guys
Hopefully better build quality than the last models we have 120 workers and have had everything from batteries not charging to screens going black and not working,headbands falling apart,hinges snapping etc etc

Hello 3m the welding itself its clear, but I distract myself from the welding pool and start noticing some rays of light coming out of the welding pool, I don't know if it's normal, if I have to get used to it.
Is it not thru the sides? Where it shows peripheral vision?
@@fuckingallthesehoes3295 g5 doesnt have side windows. This sounds like astigmatism. isimilar things happen when light goes through multiple surfaces, like adf, protection plates and grinding shields...

G5-01 на много удобнее, чем 9100 FX. Регулировки, функционал, комфорт, одел и спокойно работаешь. Сидит как влитая. 9100 долго насить не мог.

Yeah I work in the steel erection industry and a lot of our wire feed welders stand by this setup. Thinking about getting one for myself as well.

3m in the future need to make filter built in to the helmet. Good helmet but make filter a lot smaller in the future
so you want filter and battery built into helmet? what about that weight? and if keep weight down, then filter and battery life decrease. Thoughts on balancing that all out?
G5-01 great mask except the harness for me keeps slipping off no matter the adjustments made especially with a hood on and bending over 9100fx fit better for me.
Where do you buy this damn thing? I'm pretty sure home depot doesn't have them or even the weld supply shops

@@anonimails They are a manufacturer, if you want a price you would need to go to a distributor of their products. The best they can tell you is a MSRP, but that will be off from what you will actually get by calling around or shopping online distributors inventory. Most welders, or people investing in a high end welding helmet setup, will have accounts at local weld supply stores. Different people will have different discount levels depending on their relationship with their suppliers, so one guy will have a different price than the next.

I have a question. If these papr systems are supposed to be pumping purified air into our helmets then why is is that allergies go haywire? Seems to me like the purifying system would filter out airborne allergens. If the intake system which is right where it is going to suck in the smoke and fumes of when welding is supposed to getting purified then again why is it not filtering out allergens? Are these systems just a scam for profits?

sounds like a issue a friend had. I looked at his setup and noticed he stores his bag wide open, and the helmet sits out sometimes. Dust can settle in there, and when you put the helmet on, that dust circulates for a little while. Gotta keep the inside of your helmet clean!
