I own a Miller Digital Infinity ClearLight 2.0 at home and an older Lincoln 3350 at work ( shop owned hood ) so it's not comparing apples to apples on the clairity . The Miller is definitely clearer and I prefer the Miller headgear as it stays put on my head better with less tension on the ratchet but I don't like how it's either latched up or it's down as compared to the multiple stops on the Lincoln . Weight wize the Miller seems a tad heavier to me but not much and changing out the cover lens on the Miller is alot easier and faster being you change it out from the front . I do like the grind mode and the x mode on my miller even though you have to flip it up to set it , the shops older Lincoln doesn't have either but prefer the analog dials on the Lincoln .... both are excellent hoods and both have their pros and cons I enjoy using both of them so it's a toss up to me which is better
I think this is a good comparison, pretty comprehensive and fair. I've got that Lincoln hood and really like it but I resonate with the desire for lighter weight. My previous hood was lighter and I'm not sure how much I actually use the larger/heavier viewing area. Both of these (especially when bought from Baker's Gas like I did) are pretty good values compared to the more exotic hoods. I guess if I spent all day under a hood I might feel differently.
wish I would have know about the warranty. I bought a lincoln used a few times, like 5. I don't weld much. had it hanging up in the garage and next time I used within a year of buying it I took it back and was told to just put in the sun for a few hours and should be good. didn't work so I chucked it and bought a hood with batteries. The shop should have told me there was warranty
Am I missing something or wouldn't the new Lincoln compare better with the Miller Infinity because of viewing area size? I love my Infinity helmets, but the grind button and analog interfaces are really nice.
The Infinity is heavier / more expensive. The Elite and Viking are actually more popular compared to one another. We really like that Infinity too! Miller took off the grind button and does have the new 4X lens technology. I'm liking the look of the lincoln with the old school interface.
Yes, people love the traditional knobs! Nothing wrong with sticking to the basics! Thanks for watching!
just got my 4x hood yesterday. Its a lot clearer than the original ClearLight lens. very happy with it
Awesome, thank you for sharing!

Would you recommend upgrading to the clear light 4x lens if you have the clear light 2.0
