    Can someone explain the 30% weight reduction? When I do the math there is only 16% between the 9m Evo and the 9m Evo Dlab..

    • @DUOTONEKiteboarding
      @DUOTONEKiteboarding  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It says up to 30%. So the weight reduction is less in the smaller sizes.

      I'm keen to see an answer on this too.
      13m normal Evo 3.52kg
      13m dlab Evo 2.88kg
      To be 30% lighter it'd have to drop more than 1kg. False advertising?

      Aluua vrs Dacron is 30% lighter I’m guessing but added with everything in the kite that isn’t aluua changes that number

    I don't understand all the hate. Apple and other brands have been producing different versions of their products for years and it's fine for everyone. If you don't want to pay for the iPhone Pro with all the best technology, you buy a regular iPhone. Or a phone from last year. Same here. You can still buy a normal Evo, an Evo SLS or an Evo from the last season.
    We should be happy that Duotone as one of the only brands in the industry is pushing the product development and is introducing new technologies and materials into the sport.

      Other brands are also working on other materials and development. They are not the first to release a kite with the aluula (Ocean Rodeo). Even eleveight which is a much younger brand we released a Kite with a new material and not has a much higher price. New North also arrives with a new materials already put on their Wings and soon for kites.

      Lately we have been receiving customer feedback with some people upset that the gear is more expensive. Raw material and freight costs have increased almost 30% for us, yet our products only went up in price by 6-15%. We swallow the other half and lower our margin on profit. Simply because we are the market leader and we don’t want kiteboarding to become an elitist, snotty sport. Of course, this sport is expensive, like mountain biking, skiing, fishing, golf etc. At the end of the day, everyone has to decide how much equipment they need vs want, what it is worth to them and whether it is better to purchase used equipment or a new product.

      @@ArmanYDE you complain about price, ok. others are coming with lighter material too - so far aluula is the best on the market. you will see that core, fone and other brands are working hard to get aluula working on their kites. it´s more about the production know how and it takes time to implement aluula in the production process. aluula costs 7 times more than standard dacron and thats why the kites are so expensive. everybody is complaining about price - duotone offers different models, basic, sls and dlab. so if you cant afford it - dont by it. as simple as that. the comparison to say that others are coming with different material - good luck. i tried eleveight in capetown, the kite is a joke and hookipa and other material is by far not on the level as aluula. rrd wings on aluula have the same or even higer price points than duotone - why? because so far, aluula is f.... expensive. i hope that more companies move to aluula to drop the price. inflation rates are crazy, war, high dollar etc. the situation is in all kind of markets crazy. to bash about pricing in watersports industry is like in all other industries at the moment...

    • @ArmanYDE
      @ArmanYDE ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nixon_capedr I do not criticize the price of Kites with the alulla, it is obvious that no matter the industries, inflation is present. You have not tried the RS+ to say that, it has a deformation comparable to aluula, and in the strong wind it does not deform even under swollen. And it remains developments on a new material and cheaper than an evo sls which remains of the lightened Dacon. Ok different model its very nice, but why did you remove the Rebel Standard from the catalog ? may be the performance too similar.. I really like Duotone and I had material from this brand and I was not disappointed but just we find as well in other brands for 20/30% cheaper

    Very interesting. Now the main question: For now I use a 12 DICE SLS and 15 Juice. Can I replace both kites with a 13m EVO DLAB? On the configurator it says with. 78kg I should only go with a 11m EVO DLAB? That sounds very small compared to a 15m Juice in light wind?

    • @DUOTONEKiteboarding
      @DUOTONEKiteboarding  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can always try to replace two kites with one... We all know how that will end though! The more kites you have the more range! If you had to choose just one, then yes!

    It sounds epic! Only thing I wonder about is buying first generation of a completely new type (e.g. 2020 North Kites, though I note these were completely new kites by a new company). Evo had been around since forever but I understand the Aluula behaves completely differently so it had to be redesigned. Should I be waiting for Gen 2 version of allula Evo?

    Already seeing those evo d labs at kitespots in Venezuela people think is worth the price because of the wind range, people complaining on price are wrong premium is expensive if you don't have the money don't feel bad just buy something on your budget an that's it, here in Venezuela people who kite is wealthy and there's nothing wrong with that if is elitism or not is not relevant, congrats on your partnerships with porsche this sport is evolving and growing very fast

    Does the Dlab fly one size bigger because of Alula?
    Like does the 8 Dlab fly like a 9 sls or are they still the same? I see most pros who rode 9 sls rebels are on 8 Dlab?

    Very interested to get an 8 evoDlab for here in Cape Town. It will be for surfing and then twintip when the wind picks up. Has any one tried or done review for directional with this kite and would you recommend it for it or is the Neo better option.

    Bestimmt ein super Kite, aber Preislich leider völlig drüber. Entwicklungskosten und Materialkosten hin oder her. Macht halt weniger Werbung und bietet den Kite 1000€ günstiger an. Dann ist er vielleicht auch was für die Breite Maße und nicht nur für ausgewählte Menschen. Da redet man beim keiten schon fast von einer Zwei-Klassen Gesellschaft👎🏼

      @@DUOTONEKiteboarding Dear Duotone. Thx for the reply.
      Anyway, lets be honest, the kite gear wears much faster than any other sport you have mentioned and the spare parts are not expensive as kite spare parts. New line set costs almost half of the price of the bar itself. Don’t mention the repairs on the kite which devalues the price in half.
      This is an honest review with no hate. I wish i could afford it, but its unthinkable. 90% of kiters cannot afford it. Im not trying to buy a Porsche with 2000€ of wage!
