    Finally a review on a base truck. I have a 2011 XL reg cab long bed. Mines not a 4x4 though. I love it. This truck is all I would need.

    Your presentation was very informative. I have a 2021 XL and was not aware of all the setting option from the center screen. Thank you for sharing.

    Exactly how I'm speccing my '23 out, except I'm upgrading to the V8. Also will add a bed liner if that's available without having to add a bunch of stuff I don't want/need.

    • @CarsWithSteve

      Nice! I wouldn't worry much about getting the liner from the factory. Aftermarket drop in from the dealer or spray in from LineX would work!

    I really like the XL trim but have to have a height adjustable driver's seat! Only GMC's work truck has it. Please Ford do it!

    • @CarsWithSteve

      Would be a easy enough feature to add! It's kind of weird that the seat doesn't have height adjust

    You did a very nice job going over everything and I appreciate you picked the XL version too. Its too bad Ford leaves out the option to add on upper level trim like the larger screens for the dash, electric folding mirrors, sliding rear window, leather, vanity mirror because they have all those parts. I think there are many people that get a regular cab (especially the short bed) to be a little sport truck that can do their daily tasks and would enjoy that extra comfort without having to jump to a crew cab or super cab. These parts can be added but it will be a lot more costly even if you DIY.

      @CarsWithSteve  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Robert! Agree that it would be nice if Ford offered slightly better options for the Reg Cab, at least some of the nicer tech would be great. Hopefully Ford reads these comments and takes people's thoughts into account

      most don't want all that crap - that's why they buy the XL. I could have ordered any F-150 I wanted. I ordered a 2022 XL 4x4. 5.0 3.73 locker. 101A, Chrome appearance. FX4. Sync4 with enhanced voice. Basically everything except co-pilot 360, because I do not want that crap. go up a level and stuck with co-pilot. And some levels can't even do a carpet delete. No place for carpet in a truck.

      @@todsimpkins8908 It's funny.. this is where the idea behind the reason for getting a truck comes into play. There are people that won't drive anything but the best of the best (Limited - $100k truck) but can get most of the same functions out of the $60k Lariat
      Buy what you need.. invest the difference!

    I have two f150's, 1997 & 2019. While installing a Roush CAI on the 19, it was still running when I popped the hood, I was surprised to see a "Hood Ajar" indication. With that said, WTF can't they put a "Tail Gate Ajar" or "Tail Gate Down" indication. I have tonneau covers on both and on more than a few occasions I left "contents" on the ground. I figure since they spent the time to let me know what's going on in front of me, how about letting me know what I can't see. Also, luv my engine compartment light on the 97.

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A tailgate down message would be interesting.. unless the message could be disabled by the user it would drive people crazy in the construction and off-roaders who might have their tailgate down frequently

    Ford needs to get in the 21st century electric windows and locks. I am a ford 100 % but this would make me go to GM. Great presentation.

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The basic controls are because of the trim - this was pretty much as stripped as these trucks come. The Reg Cab/Super Cab XL are manual windows while SuperCrew is power!

    • @RyDawg96
      @RyDawg96 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol, this is the base model. Not sure why anyone would complain about not having electric windows and locks in a base model. Not to mention Chevy still comes with manual windows and locks in the base Silverado models.

    Is it worth buying the truck with that engine 3.3 V6

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on your needs.. if you aren't towing or are towing a small amount, or just want a basic work truck it's a cheap option. It may be worth it to pay the extra cash to upgrade to the 5.0L but going to be a matter of preference

      In this base XL I'd personally go with the 5.0L V8 - would really help the resale value because of how much that thing can tow! But value wise, you're bang on with that 2.7L
