    I have the rubbermaid version of this and it has utterly and completely surprised me. 100% satisfied. Does not leak and has endured winds you would not believe...Oklahoma winds. Plastic sheds are awsome!

    I purchased the 8 X10 shed, same model. This video will help me alot in the assembly of the shed. I hope Lifetime has made this thing very durable, because I live in Canada and this shed will be exposed to -40F temperatures, snow loads and spring melts. I have made my base out of concrete with rebar. Thank you for the Video.

    My father inlaw has had one like this for the past 15 years. It has withstood Florida heat and several hurricanes, it has been blown down twice from strong winds yet it easily gets rebuilt (replaced the skinny metal bars with heavy gauge steel bars the second time), the shed continues to stands today and probably wont be replaced until the next storm blows it over lol.

    Please note: You can't make paint stick to this type of plastic if you're thinking of changing the color. If you don't like the color of this shed, you will either have to replace it or get used to it. Over time the panels will warp and fade if exposed to a lot of sunlight, but it's not something that happens quickly.

    How tough/safe do you think this shed is? I saw some reviews for other plastic sheds that people mentioned you could knock in the doors or windows very easily. I don’t have a fence around my yard, but would get a padlock for the door. I just need a place for a lawn mower and basic tools. Thanks!

    • @ScottsGarage17
      @ScottsGarage17  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The base it came with is flimsy. The door latch is is thick metal and can be locked. The window is Plexiglas so less breakable, but rather thin. It will stop petty thieves but not professionals. Hope this helps. I believe our possessions are safe, but we live in a save neighborhood.

    • @robertwillis4061
      @robertwillis4061 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Any decent knife will go through these sheds or storage boxes. Even a cigarette lighter will melt enough to allow someone to by-pass the lock. However they keep your stuff out of sight and rain. Wouldn't keep anything of value in there, but it's a plastic shed. So I know what it's security limitations are.

      @Dean Chapman I believe you! I followed the directions and still had trouble with corners snapping into the floor. I had to rock them back and forth while pulling down with all my might and it took me multiple attempts on 3 out 4.
      Thought I could finish it up tonight, but I found out there's something out of spec and the last few roof caps are 1/2" short and too far to close the roof up.
      Very frustrating and not recommended.
      I had bought a Suncast one from Costco about ten years ago and had no trouble assembling that one. But, this one is no where near as easy or trouble free.
      I watched the Lifetime tutorial video and they made it look so easy.

    One benefit, and purpose of the steel stanchions is to provide somewhere onto which you can mount shelf brackets. That's why they have slots cut in them. They also give some amount of increased load bearing compared to just the resin.
