Bryson DeChambeau's 18th Hole at the 2024 U.S. Open highlights on the classic computer game Links 386. This game was released a in 1992 . . . a year before Bryson was born.
What is most sad as someone who played this, Jack Nicklaus golf, and Golden Tee (I think was built on this engine) is that there is not a single enjoyable golf game in the iOS app store. All micro transactions bs. Nothing can replicate the fun of online Golden Tee. I used to gamble with my friend at mouse mode online. He couldn't understand how I was so good. Then he came over to my house and saw my technique of using the side of my keyboard as a guide to get perfect shapes every time. It took him a week, but then he got to my level and the battles were epic. On my own I loved 3-click. It was a major scandal when the PGA Tour franchise dropped 3-click. I remember complaining to Peter Jacobsen about it on the range, and he gave me a whole bucket of practice balatas, brand new. A forgotten golf legend. It was a status symbol to have a Golden Tee in your house back in the day as a golf pro. That's when you know you made it out on tour. :-)
That's awesome! I always thought Golden Tee looked cool at arcades and gas stations, but it looked so difficult and daunting, I think I only tried it once as a kid. Seeing the community formed around that game today is wild. I can only imagine what it was like growing up with that game if you were a golf fanatic.
@@thoyo Golden Tee had a PC game servers. I inquired about buying the source code and rights or paying the costs of a server, but they never got back to me. A lot is going to be lost to history.

I'm not sure what level of autism my algorithm has pegged me with but here we are and this is awesome fam 🦍
Obviously, you’re a golfer
You're not the only one. I spent more hours than I'd like to admit playing this game on my dad's Macintosh.
@@RingdingsandmilkI think i got it because the word “golf” is in my name….haha
Links386 was an absolute beast back in the day. Way ahead of its time.
"I think you hit the tree, Jim?"
"Looks like it hit the tree, Jim"
Bryson is in shock that he made that putt for the win, he can’t even move!
can you recreate rory crying in the clubhouse in Links 386?
😂😂😂
Rory is weak
Can you recreate the us team crying after losing their match 9 and 7 at the ryder cup? Which actually happened
😂👍
Lol damn
Dudes rock
My PC struggled to run this back in the day
I occasionally played a golf game from the mid 90s on sega genesis, it was awesome. I wish I could remember the name of the game….
I love the crickets right before the putt
Very nice, bro! That was cool
Brah, I thought the commentary was in-game. I was like WTF, Links 386 had commentary but the later versions didn't??
Game was the best back in the day
That’s clearly Peter Jacobson 😂
incredible
This is awesome 😂
This is really cool
my man!
It needs Bobcat Goldthwait providing the commentary.
That swing looks EXACTLY like Bryson's!
That languid swing is not DeChambeau...its more like Colin Montgomery.
