Massive improvement over the eNV200 - I drove one of those for around 40,000 miles, so I'm very familiar with how they drive. I think Nissan could be onto a winner with the Townstar EV. What do you think?

This new EV looks very much more refined compared to the aged E-Nv200. The 22kw DC charger will be practical and will be genuinely useful for lunch time top up charging. The arm phone mount and placement of usb and 12v socket are exactly what are required for those of us that just need things to work. An excellent looking overall package, you should sell loads of them Miles!

pity didn't make a 60kw battery version would be so much better on range, also would be nice If you stated the price of all models

Thanks for the review, although you kept calling it a car! Electrician here. Ive had my e-nv200 for 5 years now. 2015 reg. Excellent van but sick of only having 50 miles range in winter. Done 50k miles and still have full battery capacity. Biggest load capacity for its size, 4.2 cu meters, i cant understand why i never see any others about?! Really want to test drive the townstar. Although load capacity looks a bit smaller than the e-nv200 so might need the l2?
Ps, if you have an electric van make sure you use the handbrake regular, mine just failed MOT and had to replace the cable due to binding, probably because i never use it! £180 from Nissan!

The worst thing about the env is the suspension. The best is the heated seats. No mention of better suspension or what the improvements are and no heated seats.

Looks smart and the specification seems very impressive. Do you know if Nissan have any intention of releasing a people carrier version?

There is a 5 seat combi version due out, but no news on a 7 seater

@@ChorleyGroup I think I read that Mercedes had a 7 seat version model planned for their version of this platform.

WTF? 45kwh battery????? NISSAN still has learned nothing from the eNV200 fiasco. We KNOW they have 60 kwh batteries for the Leaf. Why the hell does Nissan continue to shoot themselves in the foot by putting microscopic batteries in their van cars?

I agree that the battery could and should be bigger, but it's range is better than the competition. Personally 150 miles is more than enough for me as I work locally max 30 mile radius.

I keep seeing these nice looking electric vans and every single time they spoil it by putting half a dozen AA batteries in there to power it. The only van so far with a realistic 250 miles range is the Id buzz cargo.
Not good enough Nissan (and everyone else apart from VW)
