DeWalt and Milwaukee Comparison

- Not exactly a comparison but just a side to side of them fighting each other. Didn’t work out as planned!
But the Milwaukee cutter is definitely very old, it not because it’s not inserted well, when it gets old it starts skipping and doesn’t cut as well anymore and it needs a blade change.
We will do another video with a newer Milwaukee cutter though.
Aside from that, the DeWalt one is pretty neat!
Thoughts on that?
The old worn out 12v millwaukee vs new 18v Dewalt
Exactly
Literally
In other words, Milwaukee doesn't last 😂
That's not an 18v
That's a 20v
Put in the correct sized cutter…….
It’s correct
Those cutters are consumable so trying a used Milwaukee vs a new dewalt might not accurately represent the products🤷♀️ my last plumber complained how often he had to replace the cutters
@@christopherfall1352 ya , I’m in my 5th
It works a lot better in real life
@@josephlowman7906milwaukee is too overrated. Especially packout why the fuck would you show up to a build site with that boxes you look more like a car mechanic than a fucking spark or plumber. + Most build sites Milwaukee packout would be utterly destroyed in a matter of days.
I have the Milwaukee pipe cutter. That happens if the pipe isn’t seated correctly in the tool. Other wise it cuts as good as the Dewalt. This my friend is an operator Fail and not a tool Fail.
If you had the tool long enough, you’d know it starts slipping and shakes when the bearings get old on the head. I’ve replaced 4 cutting thousands
@@The_Impetusso you're saying it was a very flawed test that proved absolutely nothing and was a waste of our time and yours?
@@The_Impetusyou should old the pipe, it would hepl
The Milwaukee definitely has a point where it just doesn’t work the same any more. I often look for tips and tricks to give it life but nothing seems to work. Changing blades/lubricating/whatever else I can pick up on these sort of videos.
I hate the idea that tools just reach a point when they no longer work
@@The_Impetus so what you're saying is you used a worn out tool against a brand new one? If you maintain your tools this won't happen.
If you would actually hold the pipe with the Milwaukee while your cutting instead of letting the pipe flop around it might cut faster.
Exactly 👍
Literally took the words right out
yes.. but this needs some craftman attitude and some balls.
Thank You
“And today, I’ll be testing this Dewalt 1/2 impact wrench vs my buddies Milwaukee screwdriver!”
Thank you for the laugh
seems reasonable
I forgot to mention, the red one is also older technology, broken, and on low battery
Yeah. I hope this wasn’t a legitimate test.
It's a 1/4 but I know what your trying to say
It's broken. The Milwaukee spring is damaged, it happened to mine a while ago.
That Milwaukee cutter also has a few miles on it. New dewalt vs old Milwaukee
Thank you ima going to hide this channel from my slides now
Also it's 12v compared to DeWalt 18v or whatever theirs is
So yall are saying millwauke doesnt last and its parts break? Interesting
@@seantheguyyou saying there isn’t a single dewalt, makita, snap on, or really any other tool out there that breaks? I’m sure that beat up Milwaukee hasn’t had the best of lives either
The Milwaukee one was misaligned, you can tell by the sound it was making, when its lined up right itll cut copper in 4 or 5 turns, i have a stainless steel blade on mine and use it for EMT
I agree if you don't line it up correctly it doesn't work right, honestly it works pretty good if you line it up correctly I love DeWalt tools too but if you don't know how to use the tool you're using it's not a fair comparison
I noticed that too. I don’t even work with these tools and could tell the Milwaukee tool wasn’t functioning the way it’s supposed to. No tool company would sell a tool that did that when you use it. I knew he was doing something wrong or broke it or something
Are the stainless blades sold separately? Have you used it for EMT?
@@jaybee1570 yes, I use mine for EMT, and they do make blades for stainless steel for it, the only thing is they only make the blade for the European version so you have to have it imported. I found mine on eBay
Ah yes. The old pipe cutter vs the brand new impact with the pipe cutter attachment.
And 12v vs 20v lol
I tested my new Milwaukee and it's faster than the DeWalt in the video. So probably the blade isn't sharp anymore.
Milwaukee should come out with an attachment that turns the pipe cutter into a drill and post it to this video.
Are we surprised that a broken Milwaukee pipe cutter is slower than a brand new never been used Dewalt pipe cutter😂
On top of him doing that for the video, where the fuck is that dewault cutter going to fit when cutting old pipes out😂
Well he held the pipe on the second one which is what he supposed to do with the Milwaukee and didn’t
he isnt surprised it is an add
He wasnt using it right either. You’re supposed to hold the pipe steady
Attached to a brand new impact no less
Broken waukee vs a gun behind a $300 attatchment....good test. Very science.
Very science indeed 😂
Milwaukee is shit
Bro ontop of a 20amp 18v battery tf is this nonsensical shit.
$300?? The Dewalt attainment is $99 + tax. Milwaukee is overpriced overrated not Dewalt
Very science 😂
Perfect unbiased test a used old clapped out tool versus a brand new one. Perfect
I've had Makita, Dewalt, and Milwaukee, over 20+ plus years. Makita did fine, DeWalt failed me many many times. 18 volt Milwaukee stuff was an absolute game changer. I've had Milwaukee for at least 6 years and still haven't had to replace a bettery or tool, other than the Milwaukee soldering iron. The heating element burns out if you leave it on for too long. I'm still running the same drill, 3/8 impact, 1/2 impact, large crimper, large cutter, and sawzall that i bought 6 or more years ago. I use them all every day.
There's a reason milwaukee vs makita isn't a comparison. I just saw a video of a guy trying a alibaba impact vs makita vs milwaukee, and it was better than makita but worse than milwaukee. That tells a lot.
@@johannesmller3019better as in how? For one. Makita was never about it. It was always about comfort and consistency for day to day use… think of it as old reliable basically. Milwaukee has always been about power and speed. And depending on the maintenance, the tools could last you a pretty long time
The alibaba drill could probably last you a long time with proper care/ not dropping off a 6ft ladder on a daily basis
Let's face it Hakko and Metcal will forever be the reigning champs of soldering irons
@@RJWaynerium For battery powered irons, they are not the champs. Aussie Irons were the champs, until Australia forced them to shut down because of covid. F'ing police state BS. $35 wireless irons are a joke.
@@chevy383jtI don't muck with battery powered irons so I wouldn't know
That Milwaukee one looks like it been threw hell and made it's money back already
No it looks like it can’t do the one job it was hired to do. It’s funny how delusional Milwaukee sumos are
milwaukee has a damaged/broken tension spring
First person to actually say the right thing, wow!
And dewalt looks brand new where as milwaukee looks about 3 years old
@@The_Impetusand still you leave the video up like it's an actual comparison. 👌
@joeybebop he didnt know about it till he posted this and saw a comment telling him
Yeah Milwaukee is pretty low quality. They are more expensive so Milwaukee can pay for the next 3 replacements you will need.
You can hear the Milwaukee malfunction 🧐 and that attachments to the drill 😅 😅
The Milwaukee needs a new cutter blade and if your spring set (that pushes the rollers which push the tube and tubing to the cutter ) is worn it doesn't help. It's just a pipe speed cutting wheel in a power tool.
The only thing I can say as crit feed back is to do it 1 more time but do the maintenance on the Milwaukee.
Oh I see, the old brand new vs used and worn out comparison trick, that’s totally legit testing guys 🙄
Also 12v vs 20/40 v
Lol
dont forget using the wrong size cutter haha
Damn, a brand new 20V DeWalt vs a clapped out 12v Milwaukee.
Great comparison
That’s a pretty big size tool just for cutting the freaking pipe. I have my old roller blades tiny 1 that’s good enough for what I need in my life.
If you listen really closely you can almost hear the faint sound of the Dewalt rep writing a check
Wish they did
Lmao I use the milwaukee copper cutters every week and it only takes 10 seconds max
It bounces around a bit more hold that pipe steady for that red tool and it won’t be as slow, my line up is black and yellow regardless though
10sec? That’s long
Milwaukee is best he is using it wrong it snaps to size and if you don't let the pipe roll in your hand or the tool roll slightly at first it will get stuck out of size. What we are seeing is unskilled hands at work.
@@zskibro1453it’s probably bc it’s a m12 🎉 compare the same tool size with a fresh cutter in it and it will be pretty much the same
@@prankqc2168 it’s not that deep bro
Just walked to home Depot and back with a hand held tubing cutter and made the cut before he figured out how to use his. #dontquityurdayjob
Great stuff man! Now make a 100 cuts and see if your arms get tired
@@The_Impetus I don't cut pipe i hire turd herders but only the ones who can use the tools they have. LOL
@@josephpope3467I bet you’ve never had a “return” company…I get a feeling that you’re just one of those clients lol your ignorant arse will get charged triple and then a black “x” will be added to your name and number, to never be dealt with again
😂
😂😂🔥
Please let a tradesman demonstrate before you misrepresent either product
I will stick with the small adjustable pipe cutter that use to be my grandads and still works fine and cuts as quick by hand
Bro why is your Milwaukee taking forever? Mine does it in less than 5 seconds
i think its a broken tension spring or something like that my co workers takes forever and mine plows through pipe his was like that right out the box too.
Would still use the Milwaukee. DeWalt extension has no centering function
DeWalt: lemme show you how its done
My brand new Milwaukee cutter does this if the pipe isn’t seated properly. I find it works best holding the pipe to make sure it’s seated in the jaws, then it cuts quite fast. In your video it looks like the pipe isn’t running true! starting both up at the same time dislodged the pipe from both tools from my observation.
I feel you and I know a lot of people are saying I’m not holding it well, thats why I made another video on how the bearings are fucked. When water gets in these things everything goes to hell, I’ve used 6 of these by now over 12 years, so I know when I’m engaged or not
@@The_Impetus ok cool looks like I have this to look forward to then 👍
Faster to cut copper by hand with a good pipe slice
One also a 12v and old and other is a 18v brand new not a fair comparison
Whether the battery V is the problem or not, I’m only here to compare which one cuts better. But, this isn’t a fair comparison regardless, the Milwaukee one is too hold, doesn’t even seat well anymore
@@The_Impetus that's fair I agree
I think testing separately or by two people simultaneously is fair!
Fair say
Don’t be quick to shit on Milwaukee. Can’t claim it bad when you’re not using it properly.
My Milwaukee did that right out of the box. Must be a spring issue with it
12v up against the 18v?
It’s really easy to compare brand new tools vs beat up used tools
I have got the same Milwaukee at work and it works much better. You need to actually replace cutting ring time to time
Yeah 😂 anyone experienced with a pipe cutter would know that blade is dull as fuck
People actually believe tool tests like this too 🤦
12v vs a 20v yeah makes sense
Used vs. new, nice!
The fact I've done that by hand faster then both of them is sad
I have a manual hose cutter that does the job even faster than the DeWalt.
Stop making product comparison videos if you don't know how to use them correctly
I love how slim and compact the dewalt is 💕💕💕
Worlds most unfair test
That's literally the example of a old used dolled up tool compared to a brand new sharp edged tool
I hate when people do comparisons with one battery fully charged and the other dead and think we won’t notice 😂
Use it in the job in a tight wall Im a plumber and i take and use that milwawkee
I love it for tight walls, but once water gets in it, if not dried properly, it’s done
This guy is the only tool I see here. Using the correct size fitting for Milwaukee 💀🤦🏽
In my experience with the Milwaukee pipe cutter you gotta hold it as the torque spins the pipe while cutting it thus not cutting fast or clean.
I have personally burned up three of these Milwaukee m12s and every time one stops working I go buy another one. It is the superior copper cutter. No size changes and if you hold it right it cuts 1" type k in less than 5 seconds and 1/2" L in about 2 seconds. My only gripe is that you can't get it wet.
So the Milwaukee takes forever and the dewalt one gets stuck. Seems like you’re better off with a plain old pipe slice that can get into 99% of places
I use that same milwaukee everyday and it doesnt not take that long it all depends on how well you take care of your equipment
It'll be a cold day in hell when anything DeWalt is on the same level as anything comparable Milwaukee (from a former DeWalt R&D Engineer)
It’s funny how ppl get offended in the name of Milwaukee. Don’t get me wrong Milwaukee is the only brand I use. I’m a plumber and I can tell you the Milwaukee copper cutter sucks. I don’t care if it’s compared to Ryobi milwaukeee hasn’t bothered much to improve the copper cutter or to make a m18 vs the m12.
Well said
And this ladies and gentleman is why we have science, in which we test and compare things in an empirical manner and environment.
Love how you compare a 20v Dewalt v a 12v Milwaukee... try again... also not to mention Dewalt brand new vs Milwaukee worn
The battery on the Milwaukee sounded like it was on its last leg
Lol now hold the pipe solid and steady for the Milwaukee the same way you did for the new, 18v DeWalt vs a 12v tool
It’s steady, I’ve held enough pipe to know the pressure
The hand cutters do that even faster
they sure do
Good luck fishing that dewalt into a wall or up above hvac and through data banks all the fun stuff
Aww yes because who would think the 12v would have more power than the 20V high output battery. Such a great comparison.....
You know everyone always has an opinion, I’m Mr.Dewalt. In the end it’s all preference.
I want a rematch, I have a milwakee one that cuts just as fast as the Dewalt
The pipe was just flopping around in the Milwaukee lol, no wonder it took so long
We use the m12 cutters in a professional setting where its ran atleast 6 hours a day (hotel renovations, 2 guys doing prefab for the journeymen).
I can safely tell you that the milwaukee one has either a worn out blade, worn down jaws, or both. That looks like 3/4" M wight copper, it should cut as fast as the dewalt if not just a bit faster since the dewalt relys on an impact to turn its gears and the milwaukee has its own independent motor doing the turning.
Add to the fact he held the pipe steady for the dewault and not the milwaukee
The reason why the Milwaukee is cutting slow is because you have to physically hold it just like you did with the Dewalt is common sense
No, I show another video of my holding it.. and guess what, same results
Is he running the Milwaukee drill in reverse 😮
This guy must be a DeWalt lover
Love how old and beat up the millwaukee is and how the dewalt is brand new
Whats sad is that the Milwaukee one is actually for cutting pipe. The Dewalt one is just a 12v with a pipe cutting adapter hooked up to it. 😂
“Let’s use both tools wrong and see which one is better!”
Brand New Dewalt VS Warn Out Milwaukee, Yea..... Sounds Fair
Only ever so slightly but I have a video that does new to new
I’d like to see 2 brand new tools compared or maybe at least the cutter on the old one replaced with new. Just to keep it fair.
Old M12 vs. Fresh DeWalt 20v. 😮
I want to see comparison new Milwaukee pipe cutter vs old beat up DeWalt pipe cutter.
He is letting the pipe free spin for the Milwaukee one an holding it steady for the dewalt one or the beat up Milwaukee would keep up
lol.. no I’m not.. it spins because of the bearings .. if you use them enough, you’ll know
Oh yes. A 20v dewalt high output battery vs a 12v regular small battery in an old probably dull milwaukee. Fair comparison
My old dewalt tools still work great had them for years used on hundreds of jobs
Let’s see how fast my great great grandpas Milwaukee pipe cutter cuts vs the brand new Dewalt
Seriously. How is Milwaukee still in business?! 😳
(I say this as somebody who knows jack about tools, as there maybe be a totally logical reason)
Old broken Milwaukee vs new dewalt. Great experiment
I also like to compare new Dewalts to haggard, broken Milwaukees to even the field.
Even with a worn out blade beet up through the years the milwaukee still stops the Dewalt dead in its tracks😂
That milwaukees clearly been through some time, I'd still take the Milwaukee over some drill attachment bullshit
I’m sure he’s totally not sponsored by one over the other
Very used tool vs new tool great comparison 😂
Glad you liked it!
"Do a fair comparison of both, if possible in the same class and age!"
The fair comparison:
Even as someone who doesnt use this tool i can tell that you have an either worn out, damaged, or broken milwaukee pipe cutter... there is no way it would normally take this long.
Dewalt's impact connect system is pretty dope.
Yeah, pretty dope at making sure you need a second impact to work with when you're using it...
Bumblebee a beast .💪
That Milwaukee gun seen better days that deWalt is brand new😂
If it was an 18 volt cutter like I use it wouldn’t have been as long (only takes 3 rotations) and actually a fair test comparing a 18v to a older model 12v
Bet this guys work is same as that old 12v Milwaukee
You have to hold the copper tight to use the Milwaukee ones
I own two Milwaukee cutters for boiler jobs as long as the wheel is maintained it very quick I tried the dewalt but having to change heads is a pain
Man that Milwaukee is beat, you can’t compare that to a brand new dewalt which is also higher volts😂
How do the burrs compare tho?
Let me see you stick that Dewalt contraption in a tight space 😂
Throttling the Milwaukee trigger, using a flat battery and the wrong cutter, definitely a comparison 😂😂
Yeah the Milwaukee looks like it's seen a couple job sites the DeWalt looks brand spanking new
Stay away from black & decker who owns DeWalt.
As a contractor I’ve used the top brands and will say Makita & Milwaukee are da best!
