  • A Journey Of Wellness : The Sampoornata Bharat Abhiyan
In the heart of India’s most underdeveloped regions, a beacon of hope emerged as the Sampoornata Bharat Abhiyan unfolded its wings.
Launched by the NITI Aayog, this ambitious three-month campaign aimed to accelerate the most underdeveloped regions. To uplift the communities of Tamulpur and Baksa, where the shadows of poverty and neglect had loomed large for far too long. The Hans Foundation, in collaboration with the District Health Society and NHM Baksa, embarked on a transformative journey beginning July 18, culminating in September 30, 2024.
The task at hand was daunting. With an aim to improve health conditions, the initiative sought to cover the aspirational blocks of Tamulpur and Jalah, reaching into the heart of 428 villages. The landscape was challenging, marred by inadequate road connectivity and communication barriers that often stymied progress. Yet, undeterred by the odds, our dedicated teams ventured forth, armed with determination and compassion.
Through sheer perseverance, we managed to extend our outreach to 484 villages, directly impacting the lives of 14,463 beneficiaries. The heart of our mission was clear: to combat the growing tide of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes, hypertension, and Anemia. With rigorous screening protocols, we conducted a staggering 34,055 health assessments, leaving no stone unturned in our quest for better health outcomes.
In Tamulpur, we focused on 255 villages, where our efforts touched the lives of 7,284 beneficiaries. The statistics were staggering: we screened 5,761 individuals for diabetes, 6,769 for hypertension, and 4,649 for Anemia. Our outreach didn’t stop there; in Baksa, we reached 229 villages, catering to 7,179 individuals for diabetes, 6,664 for hypertension, and 4,550 for Anemia beneficiaries, ensuring that no one was left behind.
