I have a E70 x5 3.0d 245hp mapped to 330hp. And filters delete. If you cruise on the highway it now gets 40mpg plus. Top speed is over 150 mph. 340,000 miles and 12 years later its still going strong. I recommend a modern 5th gen turbo when yours eventualy wears out. Transforms the engine responce and torque low down.

What speed do you get 40 mpg? What does it get going 84 mph?

Had the same, never got more or less than 24MPG - mostly highway miles. Had diesel DEF issues, engine modulator problems twice, front suspension problems, ate tires until I upgraded to Continentals, front seat leather split, wood grain dash splits but that was about it. Kept it 8 years and spent about $12k in repairs outside of warranty. All problems arouse after the 4yr/50k warranty coverage. It was pristine when I sold it for $11k.

I have a 2012 with similar features, plus tv screens in back, and comfort access. I need to do some restoration due to some small dents.

The best model E 70 35D is the 2012 and 2013 version’s !!!, The M 57Y is the best diesel engine that BMW has ever made. ! it’s still offered in Germany and South Africa there’s even an E7O 50D with quad turbos! Overseas in the 🇩🇪 market but Back to the 🇺🇸 market E70 35D 2013 ,
Only The 2013 has an eight speed transmission !

you can get these and any e90, e60 and up with comfort access that doesn't require putting the key in the slot.

18:20 I have the exact car but 2012 version and I don’t have to stick my key in there. The owners manual says something about periodically doing it to charge the battery or something but I never do. Also if the key is in my pocket I can lock and unlock the vehicle using the outside door handles.

I have a 2011, 2012, and 2013 X5. The 2011 requires that I put the key in, but the 2012 and 2013 don’t. The 2012 and 2013 are fully optioned out though, so maybe that is the reason

I don’t remember the package name, but comfort access was an option on most all Bengal-era BMW’s. With comfort access, you just keep the key nearby in your pocket and grab the door handle to unlock the car, and touch the ridges on the door handle to lock it. Also are able to start the vehicle with only the start button without inserting the key.

The centre lock story sounds a lot like the idiot that engaged cruise control, on his RV and then left his seat to make himself a coffee. When the thing crashed he successfully sued the manufacturer and now RV's have a warning on the dash not to leave the driver's seat whoile cruise control is engaged. You can't beat stupid
