This is hands down my favorite remix of Cynthia's battle theme. You really captured the intense, epic and even intimidating feeling when battling her. Especially at 4:56-5:22. Great job!
you couldn't get an eevee until end game from the trophy garden or from bebe, so unless you global traded it (which I doubt since it was your first team) you couldn't have had an vaporeon
Amazing job as always. The Squad: Empoleon Dusknoir Staraphtor Luxray Lucario Umbreon This had to be the most well constructed team I had made ever at the time I first played Platinum. It took hard work and a lot of determination to grind through and surpass Cynthia but it was worth it.To beat the first champion to ever legitimately intimidate me is something Ill never forget.
Really does bring me back.....of course, I never beat Platinum. But I battled her in BW. And boy, was is fun. The song isn't good, it's amazing, heck, MORE than amazing. I can't wait to see what else is in store for the future :)

I see a lot of comments in any champion theme about how "Oh they're easy, all you needed was xyz to stomp them I don't know how everyone else had troubles." but back then most of us went in blind with teams of pokemon we liked rather than strict team balance. Of course you can smash any champ the first time if you know exactly what you're going up against.

Nice remix, I think it adds to the awe her team (Well, Garchomp really) usually inspires in people. My Platinum team was Lucario, Gallade, Torterra, Luxray, Staraptor, and Garchomp. My Lucario was the one to finish Garchomp (OHKO with a critical hit from Aura Sphere. How I managed it, I'll never know).
Red is pathetic and overrated as hell. He isnt even that strong, and plenty of trainers outclass him. He has no personality at all and even Tierno was a better character than Red.
Cynthia was easy for me but on my second playthrough of crystal Red kept knocking out my Pokémon in one hit so I had to keep spamming Hyper potions and Full Restores (“you cant be the Pokémon league champion without knowing how to spam Full Restores”)
I can't Remember my entire team, but I remember I had a Torterra, a Luxray, and a Crobat. I was like, 9'ish years old back then. Ahh... Good times. Still waiting for the realm Giratina was in to be in 3D. I wouldn't mind 2 remakes in a row if it was Sinnoh! :D
It was an underleveled nuzlocke team so they quit the nuzlocke at the E4 since my highest level was 48. I was too lazy to level grind so that's when I decided to take on the E4 underleveled. The team was Gyarados, Luxray, Togekiss, Lucario, Mamoswine, and Roserade and the levels for me were 47-49. Luxray being the highest and Lucario being the lowest. Best team ever but I lost them all because I never sent them to BW...I forgot to when I reset Platinum... Oh well. Such memories! ^.^

Team I beat Cynthia with in Platinum? As with all games but X/Y I only used the starter. In this case Pip the Empoleon. And if not for the abundance of Pokémon, the Exp. Share changes, and the fact that Sylveon isn't available as a starter, I would've left X/Y as starter only as well. Constructing a team in a normal playthrough makes little sense. Post game with the dex completed is breeding time, and spending time training a non-bred team is a waste of it. And more importantly it's a waste of emotion as I consider all the Pokémon I train important. I consider them only barely less important than my real life cat. If I'm not going to keep using them, unless they have some meaning like a starter then it's not something to invest time into doing. Most of the battle ready Pokémon I have are descendants of ones bred in past games with some up to the 7th generation getting ones with different moves etc. like my Lucario who are on Rika and Riot 7 (and yes, I include the numbers in their name to keep track of which is which) and if it had been possible I'd still have them from my Gen 1 and 2 games. Each individual Pokémon is an emotional investment for me it's not just a fun game series to play.

My team: Infernape lv 58 Electivire lv 59 Gengar lv 56 Huge Power Azumarill lv 58 Golem lv 56 Staraptor lv 57 Honestly, Garchomp lv 62 was the biggest threat to my team. Idk how my Electivire managed to stay alive, but I Close Combated it with Infernape, but it got hammered with Earthquake. I send out Staraptor to combat Garchomp with Intimidate. So he Dragon Rushes, it misses while I use Brave Bird. Lol it misses as well. So we do it again and they both hit their mark on us. At this point I am half health. So I Close Combat, he lives with 20.hp and i finish it off with Quick Attack. I beat her, but I KO'd one of hers while she KO'd mine as well. I only Full Restored once, no revives. I had such a great champion match with her. I was left with 2 Pokemon left Staraptor and Electivire because I used Gengar's Destiny Bond to KO her Togekiss.
I've gotten into a habit of using a lv.100 Palkia to sweep the elite four XD I can't remember my entire first team, but I know four out of the six were: Torterra, Garchomp, Gyrados and Palkia.

Its kind of funny because almost everyone usually uses a similar team in Pokemon D/P/PT. Usually most people use Luxray, Garchomp, Lucario or Infernape, Roserade, Floatzel, Or sometimes I find alot of people like to have a good rock or steel type on their team like steelix. For me however my team when I went against Cynthia was.... Luxray, lvl 62 Roserade lvl 63 Infernape lvl 63 Garchomp lvl 64 Floatzel lvl 62 And my favorite flying type of all the games... Staraptor lvl 63 I also did no training at all because I fight every encounter, and Trainer so im usually ready by the time I get to the elite four and champion.
I just beat her in Platinum today and I was accidentally underleveld by about 3 levels! I used Peppermint (Leafeon), Neura (Yanmega), Epitaph (Dusknoir), Ricky (Infernape), QuackOS 10 (Proygon-Z) and Octatron (Octillery).
This is my team from Diamond, the only time I've actually beaten a Sinnoh game. Infernape, Luxray, Gastrodon, Staraptor, Dialga, Azelf. Nothing above level 52, going against Level 60+.
Armaldo was the embodiment of rape in this battle if you packed Ice Beam, Earthquake, Swords Dance and X-Scissor. Garchomp would be fucked if you had a big enough punch in that Ice Beam, then swords dance and earthquake/X-Scissor could basically sweep everything else.

Honestly, Garchomp lv 62 was the biggest threat to my team. Idk how my Electivire managed to stay alive, but I Close Combated it with Infernape, but it got hammered with Earthquake. I send out Staraptor to combat Garchomp with Intimidate. So he Dragon Rushes, it misses while I use Brave Bird. Lol it misses as well. So we do it again and they both hit their mark on us. At this point I am half health. So I Close Combat, he lives with 20.hp and i finish it off with Quick Attack. I beat her, but I KO'd one of hers while she KO'd mine as well. I only Full Restored once, no revives. I had such a great champion match with her. I was left with 2 Pokemon left Staraptor and Electivire because I used Gengar's Destiny Bond to KO her Togekiss.

Its kind of funny because almost everyone usually uses a similar team in Pokemon D/P/PT. Armaldo was the embodiment of rape in this battle if you packed Ice Beam, Earthquake, Swords Dance and X-Scissor. Garchomp would be fucked if you had a big enough punch in that Ice Beam, then swords dance and earthquake/X-Scissor could basically sweep everything else.
