    Nice to catch up. Thanks for all the information. The current three eggs look good.

      Good to hear from you, Treefarm. Fingers crossed for a successful hatch of all the eggs, first one +-26th, so about three weeks time.

      @@GeemeffGeemeff Good to know. The pattern of fish delivery, female flying off to eat in privacy, and the male immediately settling to brood is very cool! Cassowaries take 52 days to incubate their eggs, only the male does it, and he must starve himself unless by chance there is fruit close by. Probably he will walk a short way to a creek to drink.

    Wonderful capture, awesome video - thank you! Golden Eagle is my favorite raptor size wise. The Osprey is a gorgeous bird too the eyes are so intense. We have a lot of them here.

      It was amazing to see this juvenile land, albeit briefly, on the nest. A pair of Sea Eagles also nest in the area, perhaps one of them will drop in too. Where are you located, Mya, that you have many Ospreys?

      @@GeemeffGeemeff I"m am located New England -Connecticut. New London County area, Whaling Town. I live close by so a lot of coastal fun in sun and many Raptors. I photography hawks in my backyard. I'm photograph all birds but hawks thrill me the way they maneuver through my yard. Occasional Osprey flies over with a big snake or something. I love your Eagles too! My first Eagle shot was a couple weeks ago but too far away in a tree. I like to shoot close. I'm on the hunt for him! I know where he is now. Majestic birds. x

    Oh my! Egg alone for 40mins. I can see why Dorcha took flight, nice view of the Eagle, looks huge.
    Thank goodness it didn't stop for the egg. I love them, but I hope it stays away.🙏🏻

    She didn't waste any time vacating the nest upon seeing that beast, is she chasing it afterwards? Very brave if so! Not a good sign if an Eagle has located the nest, they're one of the few raptors who pose a real threat to Ospreys & their chicks because of their sheer size & aggression, along with Goshawks who are rapacious persistant killers.

      @rajah274 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@thresholdcollaborative9159 He's too small to tackle an eagle - Dorcha is larger than him - and obviously very fiesty!!

      No Goshawks around here, fortunately - they are beautiful but deadly. Both Dorcha & Louis and a Hooded Crow joined forces to see it out of the area.

    • @GeemeffGeemeff
      @GeemeffGeemeff  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@thresholdcollaborative9159 He & Dorcha chased it away. It's the female's job to defend the nest and the male's to do the aerial fighting, but in this case they worked together. Interestingly, a crow also joined in, the eagle's a threat to them too.

      I've been waiting for the Tawny Owl to strike, but nothing so far, just an occasional bit of distant hooting.

    Did it steal the egg? Worried now.

      No! There wasn’t the time or probably the motivation. Have a read of the description, Woodland Trust’s George Anderson has given good info about possible reasons for the visit. Remember, both Golden Eagles and White-Tailed Eagles nest in the Loch Arkaig area.

      @@gailhl Look right at the beginning when Dorcha is off the nest. The small pale pinkish-cream blob right in the centre of nest is the egg. Sits deep in the nest cup, so sometimes hidden by moss from camera point of view.
