My latest spy video shows the upcoming Volkswagen ID. Buzz winter testing under extreme cold temperatures near the Arctic Circle in Scandinavia. The new ID. Buzz is expected to be officially launched in March.

My wife fell in love with the 2018 concept van. She decided to save here money and get one when it finally came out. She was crushed when she saw that this crappy Sh%& Brick was going to be the final product. We were looking for retro 60's style not 90's. I wish Mini would make an electric van.
Yeah, I was hoping for a more retro look. Round headlights and other design features similar to the old one would have been great. This one looks much like everything else on the road. I suppose the final version will be more colorful, but it's disappointing what they've shown so far.
Me too, was saving for this,what an arrogant company VW have turned into.

@@Andi-ft5rt Hey buddy insult someone else, arrogant is making promises and then thinking I know let’s just make the most forgettable box we can and figure that people will buy it anyway cos we are VW kind of like how they thought Dieselgate was okay or how they laughed at Tesla and swore they would crush them or how they used the fine from dieselgate to build an electric charging network to rival Tesla that the head of VAG admits is not a premium experience, you know….arrogance
Maybe if/when they do a California EV they’ll refresh its face? seems like a missed opportunity not to - this will be the closest in a while to the old T1/T2 snub nose
I was in love with the concept ID Buzz but this thing is just hideous. Why not just put wheels on ca concrete block? What on earth VW. Your concept cars look amazing and then go some sort of seemingly deliberate uglification process for production.

Agreed, and also the interior seems less practical than the 10 year old Sharan. Disappointed....
The issue with the concept car...no crash security...you need some space to crash into.
It is not only the exterior design that is disappointing. From the first photos it seems that there are no individual seats in the second row. This is a major step back from models like the Sharan or the more recent Multivan 7. If this is also true for the "long" version of the BUZZ it will not be a success IMO
They also need to fix the rear!

There will be a AWD. As far as i know, only in the long version.
Front wheel drive
The ID Buzz will be Rear Wheel Drive like the ID3 or the ID4. And there will be an All Wheel Drive Version

Excellent spy shots but what a bloater that van is. Nothing of the lightness and character you see in the original Type 2. For that you need to go radical with the XBus

That is going to be a VERY popular vehicle.
VW is making a mistake! The lovely Retro-Design was so beautiful! Many people wordlwide would buy this car because of the design. Now it's a VW-Bus, developed by designers which follow the strict path of design. No inspiration. No trigger who says: "I want this car because it is something special"

The RWD version has obviously a bad traction on snow. Even this little steep seems to be a hurdle. Without AWD is this Bus a no go.

Anyone in the UK got 60K spare? That's how much this will end up costing. Many if not nearly most EVs are luxury cars.
The Transporter Multivan cost over £100k in my country, so 60k for the I.D. Buzz is a bargain. It might even cost less than that, since we don't have tax on EVs.

It will look much better, this has camouflage on the window to make it seem like it will be from different pieces. Look up ID BUZZ concept

Man total disappointment in comparison with concept prototype, some again wasteful lines around tail lights and more .... hopefully cargo model be ok and good looks for delivery business!! ?? lol just noticed like mine ford transit connect is following it .
Total hässlich das Teil, weil ihm unbedingt ein VW-Gesicht und -Arsch nach der aktuellen Designrichtlinie anmontiert werden musste - nur damit der Chefdesigner nicht sein Gesicht und seinen Arsch verliert. Traurig

That's the ID Buzz? Rly? It looks like an ordinary VW ... this thing is so far from the concept...i would never buy this! VW is just a concern with a great past but not very futuristic. Door handle, tiny VW Logo, ordinary fender...not what i expected when i first saw the concept. By the way, it's overpriced.

@@johanaavit It's suspected the ID Buzz starts at 68.500$ (basic). In my opinion the buzz will cost more. It seems that there are different battery packs (48-111kwh) which means 48kwh = ca. 200 miles (that's nothing for a van which is made for traveling).
@@otze1434 Thanks. I live in Norway, so i'm curious what the price will be. The only option is the 111 kWh battery imho. 48 kWh is probably meant for the city drivers. That car shape is not the most efficient.
Another bloody Euro box. Look at a Porsche 356 if you want something lovely.
It is so much uglier than the prototype. Why car companies think we like to see great prototypes and then settle for far less is beyond me. Just show us what you intend to build. Tesla does.

Disregard vwannabe hippies complaining over scrapped retro design - 100% they wouldn’t have bought it anyway. Even willing to bet this will have record sales, as it will occupy a unique position in the EV market.
Pretty sure the I.D. Cargo will sell like hotcakes.
I kind of want one, so I can convert it to a camper.

@@Holeyguagaamoley VW already sells many different vans, they are quite popular and even if pricing is a bit premium I don't see it as a hindrance. Let's not forget this is their first electric generation and there is still room for many improvements (like poor infotainment), so it might very well be heavily updated in a few years time, but I don't think that will keep people from wanting to buy into the form factor in current market. Regarding pricing, we'll just have to wait and see, IMO 60k EUR base sounds more reasonable (while still being above ID4 and Transporter). Just my 2C
My Skoda Enyaq 80 has totally the same behavior. These heavy electric VW group cars are not made for snowy winter roads. Have your chains with you or you will get stuck.
Beside that my Enyaq has 33% less reach currently: 340 instead of 510km.
You would be shocked to know this is what happens to practically all EVs…
Too bad they messed up the design. The concept looked promising, but this is not how an icon should be treated. Quite disappointing.

Rear wheel drive? Huh, why? Thanks to the low center of gravity it will drive just fine in snow.
What a lot of grumbling! Who cares what it looks like - it's a van. How far does it go? how many kWh/mile? Can it be hacked-about? Does the architecture mean there is more internal space (like the old VWs)? These are the questions that matter. Yeah the concept was pretty, but ultimately function matters for vans.

I'm just happy they're coming, I pick up my VW Cali in a few months and hope I can place an order for an electric version in the next few years...;-)

@@jh5kl This looks NOTHING like the prototype. Unless the entire ugly front clip and boxy back are camo this thing is hideous while the prototype was stunning. There honestly may be a market in rebuilding these with a new front clip and rear hatch that look a lot more like the concept.
