      Is it impossible to mount a cardo packtalk slim on this? Also how about the 90s carbon?

    I use the HJC i90 with the 10B Bluetooth system. The i90 also has the sun visor lever located on the left side, but the control for the 10B is made to go just past the sun visor lever. It’s actually very convenient, since one’s left hand can simply go to one location for either sun visor or Bluetooth. It’s no inconvenience at all.

    A standard Sena 20S or 30K fit on the left side no problem. You just need to mount it just slightly further back than normal. This was one of the things I was concerned about when I bought my 90 but it turned out to be a non-issue.

    Putting the sun visor control on top is exactly what everyone _complained_ about in their earlier models - which is the whole reason why it's now down at the left edge. I have my Bluetooth unit mounted just behind the visor control and never have an issue with reaching either it or the visor control...but the last thing I'd want at expressway speeds is to have to reach up to the top of my helmet and fumble in the wind blast for a control somewhere up there.

    @norbert_engel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Honestly, that is the best spot for the sun visor mechanism. I still can't intuitively find it on my Neotec II which is placed "somewhere near the middle on the left hand side"...when it's located at the bottom like in the HJC, it'll be easier to find.

    I bought the 'old' non S version with 40% discount and put my Cardon Freecom that I use with all my helmets without any problem next to the visor system. No issue at all, 10 min work.

    I've got an rpha 90....comfortable and lightweight however leaks from the top visor seal in rain, not a big deal. I use a sena smh5 which is awesome..much better than the previous cardo g9 which was absolutely shite. Always dropped out of comms and the speakers were barely audible...Helmet manufacturers, like HJC go to a great deal of effort in designing their helmets in wind tunnels so sticking shit to the side like comms units and action cameras is bound to increase noise levels!...I've always put mine at the back of the helmet...can reach around no problem to operate it and no effect on the helmet noise.

    I tried on a large RPHA 90S and it fit great! Based on that I ordered a large RPHA 90S Carbon. Owning a set of Sena 20S, I wanted to install the 2nd unit in my new RPHA 90S Carbon but ran into problems.
    I should tell you that I upgraded the Senas with iASUS X3 speakers since my primary use is listening to music, but they're too big to fit into the pockets and impacted the fit. The clamp mount and boom mic also affected the fit and I considered returning it. I decided to buy the Smart HJC 10b and it now fits well and sounds great.
    The HJC RPHA90S Carbon is a fantastic helmet. It's extremely light, comfortable and quiet. Even if you buy the 10b or 20b, you're still spending far less than any other carbon fiber helmet on the market - Schuberth C4 Pro or AGV Sport Modular.

      I just purchased the 90s Carbon myself. I came from the Shoei Neotec 2 which was a fantastic helmet, but a bit heavy.... I also picked up the 20B headset from HJC (Sena) and ready for the install. I like what I see so far with the comfort and build of this helmet. Impressive weight and it wasn't really that expensive. How do you like yours now that you've had it for a while?

    • @ronfriedman8740
      @ronfriedman8740 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Valkyrie0307 yeah, I too have friends that complained about the Neotec's weight that steered me away from it. I do like the RPHA and the Sena's speakers sound great for listening to Pandora and the mic works great for phone calls and the wife behind me, but it's primarily my winter helmet.
      Ride safe 😎

    I don't like the sunscreen actuation on the left side; the old way of having it up top and simply tapping the top of the helmet to deactivate it (spring-loaded) was a better feature.
    Also, the crappy black plastic visor lock should be off to one side, not in the center of visor where it always seems as if there is a cricket on your screen - very annoying.
    Also, the first detent to open the visor is too much; there should be a setting for just a crack. And the visor tends to close itself at highway speeds when opened one click. My old IS-MAX helmet had more optimal visor detent settings.
    And, the visor closes itself all the way when the modular hinge is actuated, even when you want it to remain open. My old IS-MAX visor would stay right where you left it, no matter what you did with the modular part; it was designed for non-interference.
    Basically, I like everything about the IS-MAX modular helmet better, except that it is heavier and more cheaply made. If I had paid full price for my RPHA 90 helmet instead of scoring one for half price on Ebay, I'd be pissed.

    Hi. I bought this helmet last saturday and i'm a little bit sad, because the weather in Portugal is cold in the morning, around 7/8 degrees and the visor fogs up very quickly, even with the air intakes all open. I didn't install the pinlock, but I think I'll have to... anyone else having the same thing happen to this specific helmet? Apart from this detail, I love the helmet: good construction, light, with very good soundproofing. Thaks for the review!

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should definitely install the pinlock as that is what it's designed for. That'll will solve your fogging issue as anti-fog coatings only go so far, hence the creation and inclusion of the pinlock insert.

    Ive had this helmet for exactly 2 years... to the day..today. ive done 23400 Kms wearing it. It has been a great lid over that time. BUT.. it now leaks air through the visor, at low speeds and is extremley noisy. I loved this lid... but i feel that it has a limited life span.I realise 23000Kms is a decent whack, but i was hoping for more...

    Am I the only person in the world that tried the RPHA 90 and noticed that wind noise is coming in ONLY on the left side, exactly from the sun visor slider???? I used a gaffer tape which solved the issue but I couldn’t use the sun visor..

    RevZilla how did you determine that this helmet and the carbon model to be a long oval head shape, When you go to HJC website they don't tell us the head shape, and this video says the helmet is an intermediate oval, then RevZilla's website says long oval. So what is it. Thanks.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We decide based on our personal experience, and handling the items ourselves. Many times the videos are made with pre-production samples sent to us from the manufacturer, and the fit can change in that interim time.
      As such, we consider the helmet that you would purchase and receive to be a long oval fit.
      I hope that helps!

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They run true to size, so if you are looking for the safest fit - you would want to go down in size if between. That way when the helmet breaks in it isn't too loose.
