    Great helmet I bought this very one from you. Replacing my 2 year old Rpha 90- the only difference being the ability to install hjc branded Bluetooth comms battery pack in a slot at the back on the s and also having a neck curtain and bigger speaker foam blanks, otherwise they are identical on and a proper pin lock branded anti fogger and not hjc

    Hi Tony! Love your reviews! Honest and detailed. And love you voice too! You should (also) be working in a radio station! 😅 I have an HJC IS Max II and I'm going to replace it. I was thinking about this model, that now is with a nice price, and it's much lighter and quieter than mine. Some reviews talk about it beeing smaller than other models in the interior, but I only find it online and can't try it first. I use an L size on my HJC IS Max II. Do you think I shoud buy another L size, or should I go with the XL? Some sites say the L size is for 58-59 and XL 60-61. I think my head measures 60cm... Thank you!✌

      Hi Ricardo, thanks - that's very kind! It's hard to be definitive about sizing, but our marketing manager wears a size L in virtually everything and very occasionally needs an XL. He has been wearing an RPHA-90S for the past two years and wears an L, saying it's the perfect size for him. Based on that, I'd suggest your starting point should be L. This helmet will be a very good upgrade over the IS-Max II and I hope you find the right fit for you. Good luck! Cheers, Tony

    Hi, I'm loving your reviews.......well done!
    You mentioned that you fitted a Packtalk Bold to the 90S........did that have the upgraded 45mm JBL speakers ??
    My new Cardo Spirit HD kit has 40mm speakers but I'd like to upgrade to the 45mm.........I can't find a definitive answer as to whether they will fit or not.

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Cardo unit I fitted has the 40mm speakers. I've just tried a pair of 45mm Cardo speakers in a 90S for you, and I still can't give a definitive answer on whether they fit. They don't fit entirely into the recess, but the speakers are made up of two discs and the rearmost disc sits in the recess, leaving the other disc to sit proud of the recess. So they go in neatly, but sit a fair bit proud of the helmet liner, which means it will depend how much room you have between the helmet and your ears. I hope that helps, and thanks for your kind comment about the reviews. Cheers, Tony

      @@sportsbikeshop Hi Tony, I've asked the same question many times of many people........your the only one who has gone to the trouble of getting to the bottom of it..........thanks a million 👍 👍
      I have a set of the 40mm JBL to go into the helmet when it arrives.......if I have a bit of clearance at my ears, I'll order the 45mm. At least I know they will go into the recess.
      Thanks again,
      Keith.

    First ride felt quite tight.. cheeks and forehead. Second ride was better. Other than that.. I'm impressed with noise difference with my LS2 FF313 Vortex. It is impressive!

    hi Tony! great review as always! thanks.. how big is the shell comparing to shoei gt-air2? I am size M, so if I go for shoei gt air2, I will have their smallest shell, which is not big at all comparing to much more sporty helmets despite the internal sun visor. but rpha 90s m-l is the medium size shell. I afraid it to be bigger than shoei M. also is the fit similar? I actually like how the gt-air2 fits on my head but I afraid about the noise, I read too many comments for gt-air2 being noisy even more than the gt-air1. cheers!

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've just taken the top-to-bottom and ear-to-ear external measurements of both helmets in a medium. They are both 27cm from top to bottom. The Shoei is 15mm narrower from ear to ear (24cm Shoei, 25.5cm HJC). I don't think you'd notice that by eye. I hope that helps you, and thanks for the kind comment about the video. Cheers, Tony

      @@sportsbikeshop wow, thanks for the measurement, very much appreciated. can you make a comment about the noise level of gt-air 2 comparing to nxr 2 ? please ? thanks.

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The level of wind noise is dictated by so many different factors that I couldn't give you a direct comparison that would be relevant to you I'm afraid. Sorry that I can't be of more help. Cheers, Tony

    at 5:47 it mentions that Cardo have an intercom system that fits this helmet instead of the HJC smart system, what is this called?

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the Cardo Smart H system. Single unit: www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/544800. Twin pack: www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/544717 Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony

    Hay algo que no dices o no te has percatado. Tiene un fallo de diseño y en ciertas condiciones hace un ruido enorme del lado izquierdo por el mecanismo de la pantalla solar. Por lo demás un gran casco. Gracias por enseñárnoslo.

      There is something you don't say or you haven't noticed. It has a design flaw and in certain conditions makes a huge noise from the left side due to the sun visor mechanism. Otherwise a great helmet. Thanks for teaching us.

    Hello. Wich is the difference between HJC RPHA 90 and HJC RPHA 90s? Thanks! :)

    • @sportsbikeshop

      Unlike the RPHA-90, The RPHA-90S is dual-homologated and is also set up for the Smart HJC intercoms. Cheers, Tony

    You can't really give a noise assessment when you are sitting behind a huge wind screen. Means nothing

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don't routinely comment on noise in these reviews, as any assessment only really has any relevance to people who ride in the same circumstances. With this helmet, I tried it on two different bikes and found the noise level to be noteworthy, which is why I mentioned it on this occasion - with an explanation of which bikes I'd ridden. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony
