You handled the video well, you spoke well of him, there was no feeling of anger or frustration coming from you towards him. And, yes, you can't be late for work.
@@begley09 And you can do that on a bike or car/passenger vehicle. You can be a bad driver because you don't have 80,000 pounds on wheels. Steven looked like he needed to understand a manual better before he got into a truck. Hopefully he can figure it out before his next trainer! God bless your patience Junior and good luck with the next student!
thats the problem now a days everything going to auto and less manual i know a car or 1/2 ton not have 13 gears but you get the basic's from a manual trans
Whenever you are getting into something you have to be passion about it. That's one thing I liked about your former student Rodney (RIP) really put his best foot forward. As a teacher you did all you can. If the fuel isn't there it can't be no fire. Period.
Till the end steven end up making it ! He's great kid with good heart met him end up picking him up at the truck stop in my cab Tell you what Junior Hondres your great instructor some people learn slow and some learn fast but till end what matters is them getting it down and right.
Junior, you were right by what you tried to instill in Steven:1. Awareness of the mechanical running aspects of the truck - PTI2. Driving ability - Up & Down Shift, braking, double clutching3. Situation Awareness - trailer position, traffic4. Work Ethic - nothing wrong with getting up early to start getting the job going! He was definitely 'green' as far as exposure to driving a truck overall, and even though some things really seemed to be taking a longer than usual time to learn, you were on his butt for good reasons - to learn them and to act & react without thinking.I applaud your efforts, and keep the fine instruction going.Driving a truck is almost as intense as flying a small plane - situation awareness & cockpit resource management is paramount! You have to stay on top of everything!
I'll be honest the sleeping part is one of my biggest fears getting into this career. It's not that i can't or won't get up it's will i get a good sleep? The combination of being stressed about a whole new career and sleeping in a box with a stranger doesn't sound like the best way to get a good sleep. I'm pretty sure i can tough it out and once i go out on my own i'll feel more comfortable and will be able to sleep better.
SkilledEddie ....... if you have a trainer that shuts it down at night. Then you are good to go. If you have a trainer like i had who fucking wants to watch dvds at night with no fucking head phones on and then falls to sleep while its playing and after drinking a tall can of beer. Then it will be a long ass night. But the good thing is you can request to be off that truck. No questions asked.
I think you were very fair and also kind with your comments about Steven - you could have said more but you didn't and I respect you for that. I admit that from day 1 I just had a feeling that he was not right for the job of driving, he did not seem very road savvy. But he gave it a try and hopefully he will find something more suitable for him, I know he will. Safe driving to you, you have a great attitude.
been doing this 16 yrs and back in my training days training was excruciating and to get your CDL you had too have your ducks in a row so keep it up dont stop being strict give them 10 days and go from their!
My solution for my oversleeping co-driver was to set my Screaming Meanie alarm clock to go off in 5 minutes and throw it into the sleeper where he had to get out of bed to shut it off. In the meantime, I would go into the restaurant and order coffee and wait for my now pissed off co-driver to show up for breakfast. LOL
you were actually a big help when I was training with "company S" especially when it came time for me to do mountains for the first time, and at that time I was already solo. thanks Junior!
what ever you are comfortable with its fine its your truck and you are the teacher... and you have the experience on the wheel...for your safety and the safety of other....gob bless you brother..
You just said it bro! You CANNOT float gears while testing. They don't allow that, which means you'd fail. I always start I'm 3rd gear, if it's dry and I'm empty I start in 4th. Great videos bro! Keep teachin and preachin because that keeps us vets safe!
Don’t let anyone tells you something u are not keep doing what you are doing u know lots of people are jealous because u are gifted because u are great guy helping everyone everyday so don’t discourage
Love your videos so far and believe you are an excellent and fair instructor. The bigger the truck, the bigger the responsibility. You have to know what you are doing in these big rigs so you don't endanger everyone else on the road. Keep up the good work. :)
An honest observation: Your personality is wound a little tight which won't help with students naturally being nervous. If you are able to be more easy going even while teaching a serious position, students will be able to really hear what you're saying and teaching rather than just not trying to upset you and reaping your ittitated and short comments/reactions to them. I actually felt uncomfortable watching you teach... you sound aggitated. Hope you are teaching for the sake of helping and not just getting the students miles while they make their training wage. Good luck, it's a tough gig.
Chris McClellan yes man fuck yes.your so right. I'm going to cdl class here in Texas and our teacher makes us really nervous always screaming. I got it down but one other guy is really struggling. I think is our teachers method
Junior, I think the way you train from what I see is on point. Driving a 18 wheeler is dangerous for drivers of 30 +years. I Struggled With Shifting But By the 3rd day I Knew the pattern I could get through the gears . Grinding but I got through them. The getting up thing that's bad. My grandparents were Dairy farmers I had to get up at 4 am do chores and then go to school come home do more chores. These kids today have no sense of responsibility.
That gear pattern is serious business. When I was out with my road instructor we had a student who would drive looking at the shifter. Damn Fool hit a tree with is in the back. Not even 100 yards down the road, the fool hit ANOTHER tree. He was gone the next morning.
Try learning how to shift a 18 speed at the age of 15 Ya my dad jumped in the sleeper and told me to grab the wheel it took a min but I got the hang of the 18 speed quick
Sounds to me like the system works. Some people can do the "job" and some can't. My dad had me driving a stick at 14 and I started moving mobile homes for the public (money) at 16. Ten and twelve wide ones, not the campers! haha. So many young people these days never see a manual transmission.
some people got and some don't ... time to roll time to roll sleeping don't turn them wheels gotta make them miles and get them loads, Jr you a AWESOME instructor and love your vids keep up the good work BROTHER!!!
Man you can’t put somebody off the truck or fail them because they don’t get up as early as you do. I’ve been driving 30yrs yet I HATE to get up early. That’s not a sign of bad driver/worker. He can work a noontime evening or night shift, a little judgmental and “If it’s not my way it’s wrong PERIOD”
Junior you're right on everything you talked about on this video. Why Prime doesn't want you to videotape your training is beyond me but I'm sure they have their liability issues. I own two trucking companies. If one of my drivers is late twice within a six month period, he is fired no questions asked termination check handed good luck goodbye!! Its as simple as that!!! it is imperative that my trucks show up on the job sites on time. it doesn't matter how nice the driver is. it's like you said we have a job to do and we need to be on time and safe
Totally agree with Jim Lahey & Travis Mitchell. Manual basics are very essential. Definitely helps you once you make the move into getting your CDL. First time I learned how to drive a car by myself was on my dad's 1982 Crown Victoria (I was 14yrs old at that time). Then my first car was a 1985 Mazda 626 of course with manual transmission and I drove that thing like you have no idea (I was 16yrs old at that time). So yeah, having that experience with a manual transmission helped a lot. In 2001 (I was 20 yrs old) I decided to get my CDL and of course got a Trifecta! (I didn't know what Trifecta meant at that time, actually just found that out thanks to Junior).... So I'm going on 15 strong yrs Trucking now. So to all you new students. I hope you can get some kind of training on a manual transmission prior to stepping into the rig, It will definitely make things a lot easier for you and your teacher! BTW always enjoy your videos Junior.
Junior I wanted to see Steven succeed however I could tell he wasn't into it. Man I thought you showed a lot of patience. Your a good driver and trainer. These students have to understand that they have to want to learn, listen, concentrate and most of all talk out loud there shifting. Thanks for all your videos.
Hey Junior, Just started my classes on November 20th, 2017.. AIT in Las Vegas, Nevada.. Just on my classes, Just letting you know I'm gonna subscribe and keep notifications on at all times.. You are very helpful and straight forward. Keep making those videos! 👍
+Carlos Salazar that is correct and I really appreciate that as far as subscribing and staying tuned in with the videos and there's no other way to do it but to be up front because if you beat it around the bush there's always going to be questions or room for more where that came from if that makes any sense which you don't want in a confined space like this truck. I wish you the best on your journey go and get your CDL man get in theNBA (Never Broke Again) #quiendijomiedo #qdm #juniorhn #catracho #juniorhonduras #truck #otr #trucking #trucktraining #truckingstudent #truckdrivingstudent #neverbrokeagain #cdl #otrlife #otr #youtuber #youtube
No work ethic is an instant fail in my book. Everyday like so many other truckers I'm up early ready to hit the road. As a local driver I get a text message from my boss everyday saying what time to come in and without complaint or struggle I am there. No one likes to work 10-14 hours a day with minimal time off before heading back to work. It is physically tiring but who else is going to pay the bills but you.
You gotta want it Obviously he doesn't want to drive when you tell you student to do something you do it. Your a great trainer I hope when I go to school I get some one like you.
Couldn't agree with you anymore, this is a job you gotta get up get yourself together do pre trip etc..... hit the road and make that appointment time. after that many days he should know the gear pattern and push the clutch in when its time to stop the truck
Junior Honduras Junior maybe he needs more time behind the simulator. Getting up and being ready to go early he needs to set his alarm clock a hour early . You diffidently did a great job with him anyhow . I've trained about 4 guys myself and some catch on quicker than others and some don't ever catch on .
First rule in life ::be prompt ! Keeping your mentor waiting even Once,is inexcusable...He needs exxtra class time, and how to be a adult, and be on time...your a great teacher ,Junior..If he does not make it,no fault of yours whatsoever..I'de be there early, with a cup of coffee..can't imagine starting his training off like that..
Well I was hoping Steven would make it seemed like a good kid for the most part, but your very right in the end you gotta get up and get at it, your also correct when you say by then he should have known the pattern for the gears. Your a great trainer JR keep up the good work love the videos plz keep making them and be safe and keep it rolling, in a few months I wanna change careers and start driving trucks I just wanna get my 20 yrs in where I am now for a few of the bonuses I will get I hope you keep training I would like to have you as a trainer and come to prime anyway keep safe bro keep doing what your doing 👍🚛
yup... I agree with you 100%. a few tips tho. continually drill him on what gear hes in. every stop light. you can't make someone have motivation to learn. you are a great trainer. keep up the great work
Enjoy your videos a lot. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Stuff happens, not getting up would be a deal breaker with me. I was really surprised that happened when you mentioned it in your videos. One would think a student would be early.
I teach students to upshift at 1400 and downshift at 1000. On a straight 10 there is about 400 rpm's in between shifts so once they get the basics we can start shifting according to situation. Gear recovery is also why I teach those two numbers. We can adjust after that. Great videos though!
WOW !!! sorry to hear that JUNIOR , I heard you in your other videos the importance of getting up early. Being ready to go , hope Steven get's it , GOD BLESS YOU , AND BE CAREFUL OUT THERE , Hope to meet you soon 👍👍
I recently completed 8 weeks of trucking college and obtained my Class-A license. Prime was my top choices for my first year withal they won't hire unless I went through thier school or 6 months of OTR experience. Nothing against automatics, I personally prefer manual transmissions. When I get my own truck I'm getting manual transmission. Keep trucking brother!!
I don't know how prime dose it . But you have to learn 120 parts of the truck what they used for learn to drive a manual & a hell of a lot more in about two months. Every day someone leave in a class of 50 14 made it. After all that u go on with a stranger ect... man it's a life style & that's what they not telling them man.
keep putting up good content Jr. ill be more than happy to share. everyone pass 1 year can relate. but when you get ready to go llc or S corp let me know! peace be with you & yours jr.
no problem. but I got to ask if you could for a video on how to fix lag in editing. I could guarantee you at least 50 new views out this way. thanks again for the info.
+Renaldo Powers Yes but that is something that I haven't done because I know its a very broad topic. Logs is something I want to make sure I get right if not I will have alot of peoplr messed up and I don't want that. 👍👍
Being a Trucker is one of the toughest jobs out there. If Steven couldn't get out of bed and be at work on time and on top of that is having such difficulty learning to shift he may be better suited to work in an office. I think you have been as patient as can be expected Junior- not everyone is cut out for this type of work.
Just got my CDL 4 days ago , love your videos Junior wish my teacher had been as good as you are. I had a female teacher who really wanted to see me FAIL , but I didn't give up also found a lot of useful information in your videos that helped me .
At the light or stop sign u always clutch in neutral because it causes the manual clutch to raddle or u can possibly burn the clutch out. I have a standard shift manual and I've been driving car standards over 15 years. Got to learn how to drive a 13 speed commercial truck very soon.
Are you not training anymore?!? I'm still planning on this summer if all goes well with my teenagers~!! Tell Kirsten I said hi if you see her. Be safe, man. I'm one of your fans, for sure. (And yes, I can drive, just need work on backing....hubby's been doing it for 20 years, and taught me a thing or two on the Pete's he's brought home!!) He still double-clutches at times, depending on the terrain and product; start/stop, etc. You are awesome; stay safe, bro.
+Annemarie Altomonte Thank you and yed I still double clutch myself in certain spots like your husband does. I am still training yes. I hope to see you out here soon. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Me too. I don't want a female trainer, tho I know Kirsten is thinking about it. I learn better from men; have all my life. No qualms~!!! I hope this works out for the summer; will be in touch. Muchas Gracias, mi hombre~!!
I knew I saw you today wanted to get some pictures of the truck just got my trainer 2 days ago. I saw Steven at campus inn at the simulators couldn't get a chance to talk to him. Be safe my man.
+William Vaughn Yeah man you should have came up and said hi. I was there with a few others just talking in the cafeteria. Brik, Kenneth, and Ben to name a few. Until next time 👍😉😃😎
Keep on doing your thing. Got to teach the next drivers and teach the right to be safe. We all have familys out on the road at any give time on any given interstate let be safe.
As a mechanics perspective if your driving a standard highway tractor trailer you should never touch the clutch only when you start of the line. You will destroy the clutch brake please respond I would like to know if your running a different tractor
Junior, I'm not a truck driver..by my observations of your vids, you are a good trainer and maintaining safety and standards can be a challenge dealing with people. I do understand being an Instructor..with students..regardless of the craft..hygiene and self motivation is something the students bring the table..demonstrates about a person's mental frame of mind as well.
Some people just don't get it..Keep Rolling on sir.. Still trying to decide which company and what direction to go back to..Was with Millis and lost my ride there, so looking between Roehl/Prime/Jim Palmer...Stay safe out there
Starting a truck on 3rd gear? I definitely don't agree, it doesn't t matter if it's a student or an experienced driver. Another thing I don't agree with is the RPM, it's way too low. But I give him a lot of credit, he's nice and patient.
Gonna miss the student training videos but i subscribed to your channel regardless Junior, you're a cool laid back kind of brutha but blunt to put a verbal "'whoopin" on that ass! Lol keep wheelin family.
While many companies are going to automatics, you should always try and learn, and test on an manual transmission. In the CDL world if you test with an automatic, your CDL will be restricted to driving trucks with automatics. You never know where you will end up in the future, it may be a company with all manuals. I learned on a 47 Ford, manual you had to double clutch as it had no synchro's. You also have to remember on a big rig you only need to push the clutch all the way down if you are stopped and need to stop the transmission to put it into gear, when you double clutch to shift after moving you only need to push the clutch in a few inches, not all the way. Hopefully Steven will get some simulator time in, and maybe try again, not sure how Prime handles it.
Great video,my past trainer had us shift near as possible to 1500,but it would grind sometimes, and other times would not go into gear smooth. Thanx for the reasons Steven was put out. Explanations help alot. In the 7-8 days he was driving how many hours would he drive for? I think obviously you would put him into situations to test his skills, roundabouts, city traffic, inclines, etc. PS I just subscribed and intend to watch earlier vids. Thanx. Great channel.Peace
+James Hannah yes I tell my students that this is their truck and I'm just over seeing what is going on with it because he was doing all the driving in all the backing but we couldn't get past the driving. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Junior, thats too bad about Steven. I was really pulling for him, but in the end. it is what it is. As a trainer we always hope that our student/trainees will make it. It's hard to make the decision, but in the end it's your name that's attached to them.
You should make a video with the camera aimed at the speedometer and the RPMs. Then go up the gears and back down through the gears so new drivers can see as well as here exactly when you changing the gears. That would be excellent video to make.
You did the best you could do. Steven has missed a great opportunity to be trained by you. His loss.I hope he will realize that. And realize you need to get up and go to work. He will grow up one day.
Junior, do you get some choice in the student you will take ? Can you take some time and do some solo running to kind of clear your head from these recent tough experiences ? Mark
When I was out with my trainer I hated getting up but I did it anyway. I have my own truck now and my wheels start turning at 3am every morning to make my appointments, sometimes earlier. That bed and pillow aren't going anywhere, it'll still be there at the end of the day.
How many driving hours do you need before the driving exam? And is it separate from the CDL driving exam? I'm from Finland btw, so just wondering how it works over there in the States! Keep up the good vids!
+Effen Bamm they don't go by driving hours or atleast here they dont. It used to be like that but they have changed it since and now they say that you have to be out on the road for a minimum of 14 days with your CDL permit before you can test out for your CDL. After you do your time on the road then you can come and test out and you will have to double clutch. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Hang in there, brother... things come in waves. I am in Oak Grove for the weekend, not too far from Springfield. I've crossed through Springfield probably 6 times in the last week...that town, I was homeless in for a couple weeks, quite a few years ago....always gives me mixed emotions when passing through.
Sounds to me like your one hell of a Trainer showing they how to do it and do it right. See some drivers do not understand that these new drivers represent you and what i mean by you if you do not train them right and for some reason they get there own truck and right off the bat there late on there loads and not getting there paperwork in on time or for god's sake they have a accident the company going to look back at who trained this person and ask there self why do we have someone like him or her training or driveing for us. Keep up the good work brother trucking needs good drivers like your kind out be safe and keep it between the lines. Peace Smoke OUT.
I want to train with you bro. Going to start school in May. I'm kinda worried about quiting my current job of 19 years to start this venture but I'm sure I can be successful. After watching you train I feel it's going to help that I know how to drive manual very well.
Hey things happen but hold your head up and be proud of you doing what you thought was right. Hopefully under another trainer maybe he will understand and get the concept on what needs to be accomplished. I hope Steven makes it and is able graduate with flying colors.
in the end bro gotta look out for yourself and your well being ......i wish the best for steven .....stay cool stay positive and as roman atwood says smile more trucking is at all hours
We had two guys in their 20s in my class that were lazy. Showing up late, not having all the things they were supposed to bring to class. Every single day it was something.
Man, i had high hopes for Steven.. But you really need to know the basics of a manual trans before getting in a rig on the highway, there was no habit for his left foot/clutch. I was so sure you being the trainer you are would pound it into him. You did nothing wrong Junior, he just didn't take it in and hold onto that info you were giving him. I wish Steven the best of luck, he had one hell of a trainer to learn from.
getting up is the main key to the job someplaces are so strict if u are not there on time they won't unload the truck until u make an appointment again
thanks junior for another great video and very good knowledge. can't wait to see your next video junior. I am out of Las Vegas NV I will be going to A-1 Trucking out of Boulder City Nevada and driving with a company from a family member. maybe I'll see you on the highway driver 10-4
As always great video. You and Steven just didn't click which is ok. He needs a different method of teaching. If I could I would come to Prime and train with you bro. I wake up at 5a everyday anyway lol. Stay safe brother.
+Reaper 1* yes you are right. You are like my other student named James which used to get up at 5 a.m. regardless and I would have to tell him "bro get back to bed because we don't have to pick up the load until later so we have to get as much rest as we can" 😂😂😂 that would happen when we didn't have to pick up early or get up early. Thank you very much for watching 👍👍
Junior Honduras Lol right. My idea is to get up early, pre-trip and hit road before the traffic gets crazy, especially in those big cities. Hot the road by 6a, NE done by 4-5p and find good spot at the truck stop.
Shifting, well you said you don't know how others do it. I shift at 1400 to 1500 unless I am trying to accelerate harder... I find the higher the rpm the faster I got to shift also I start in first and downshift back to first the reason is not creating a bad habit for winter conditions I have seen jacknife happen at 5mph and it was could of been corrected if the driver had been in gear with a little acceleration. I start In first as it is the EASIEST on clutch and drive train... just telling you how I do it now you know how ONE other driver does it.
You spoke very professionally in this video. You seem like a great guy. You did exactly all you could have done. I know this is a few months old, but I'm just seeing it. You handled the video well, you spoke well of him, there was no feeling of anger or frustration coming from you towards him.
And, yes, you can't be late for work.
+JustAGuy Thank you very much 👍
JustAGuy i agree, i've watch a few of his training videos with Steven and in my opinion he a did great job teaching the kid
Wrong. Took me about a month to learn the clutch on a motorcycle. When I drove a manual for the first time in a car, it was a very smooth transition.
@@begley09 And you can do that on a bike or car/passenger vehicle. You can be a bad driver because you don't have 80,000 pounds on wheels. You can look dumb on a gixxer having the RPM fall below where they are going to be at in the next gear before you release the clutch lever.
My mom drives a Mustang GT 5-speed and is bad at it. Has driven it for years. That's all I mean by you get it or you don't. @Jimmy Castro Yeah, agreed. You have a lot of responsibility when driving period, really... and even more when driving one of these things.

@James Council, well said brother.
+James Council yes yes 👍😎. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
James Council no doubt. Trailer trucking has to run through one's veins.
James Council
Your so right James
+Dan Bresnyan Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
At least you dropped him at a terminal. I heard of people getting left at a bus station in a random state with no money.
John Hardin
Ahahahaahah thats savage
Why would u be ready to train with no money 🤔
That is why im concerned about erolling in a trucking school
Thank you Junior
I had a chance to meet with you at the prime for the first time .
It was my pleasure Sir .
Till the end steven end up making it ! He's great kid with good heart met him end up picking him up at the truck stop in my cab Tell you what Junior Hondres your great instructor some people learn slow and some learn fast but till end what matters is them getting it down and right.

SkilledEddie with my trainer now and I sleep like a baby
SkilledEddie ....... if you have a trainer that shuts it down at night. Then you are good to go. If you have a trainer like i had who fucking wants to watch dvds at night with no fucking head phones on and then falls to sleep while its playing and after drinking a tall can of beer. Then it will be a long ass night. But the good thing is you can request to be off that truck. No questions asked.
Ben Santaguida better get ear plugs for TNT if a TV during PSD keeps you up.
+Curtis W Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
I think you were very fair and also kind with your comments about Steven - you could have said more but you didn't and I respect you for that. I admit that from day 1 I just had a feeling that he was not right for the job of driving, he did not seem very road savvy. But he gave it a try and hopefully he will find something more suitable for him, I know he will.
Safe driving to you, you have a great attitude.
+Eezee Listen I appreciate it and thanks 👍👍
Eezee Listen why do truckers act like their giving you the sun
been doing this 16 yrs and back in my training days training was excruciating and to get your CDL you had too have your ducks in a row so keep it up dont stop being strict give them 10 days and go from their!
+Bobby Chapman that's right. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
only 16yrs smh I've been doing it almost 30
That stinks!! I was pulling for Steven .... you can't get up you ain't gunna work nowhere!! Thanks Junior
+John Rambo thank you and it's a good feeling to know that my videos have helped you along your journey. Thank you 👍👍
what ever you are comfortable with its fine its your truck and you are the teacher... and you have the experience on the wheel...for your safety and the safety of other....gob bless you brother..
+jose hernandez yes safety. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
I TOLD YOU THE GUY HAD NO BUSINESS IN A TRUCK............IT WAS OBVIOUS
You just said it bro! You CANNOT float gears while testing. They don't allow that, which means you'd fail. I always start I'm 3rd gear, if it's dry and I'm empty I start in 4th. Great videos bro! Keep teachin and preachin because that keeps us vets safe!
+Follower of YHWH Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
I appreciate you, your knowledge and videos. Peace safe travels
+Leonard Roark Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Don’t let anyone tells you something u are not keep doing what you are doing u know lots of people are jealous because u are gifted because u are great guy helping everyone everyday so don’t discourage
Love your videos so far and believe you are an excellent and fair instructor. The bigger the truck, the bigger the responsibility. You have to know what you are doing in these big rigs so you don't endanger everyone else on the road. Keep up the good work. :)
+KIN Yes yes yes...ypu are absolutely right. I really appreciate it and thanks 👍👍
+Chris McClellan Thank you very much 👍
Chris McClellan yes man fuck yes.your so right. I'm going to cdl class here in Texas and our teacher makes us really nervous always screaming. I got it down but one other guy is really struggling. I think is our teachers method
+Juan Hernandez Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
W900L 14 Exactly
Junior, I think the way you train from what I see is on point. Driving a 18 wheeler is dangerous for drivers of 30 +years. I Struggled With Shifting But By the 3rd day I Knew the pattern I could get through the gears . Grinding but I got through them. The getting up thing that's bad. My grandparents were Dairy farmers I had to get up at 4 am do chores and then go to school come home do more chores. These kids today have no sense of responsibility.
+Jimi jam yes yes and yes. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Much respect to you sir, honest fair and tough. Keep up the great work.
+Joseph Deal Jr I really appreciate it and thanks 👍👍
That gear pattern is serious business. When I was out with my road instructor we had a student who would drive looking at the shifter. Damn Fool hit a tree with is in the back. Not even 100 yards down the road, the fool hit ANOTHER tree. He was gone the next morning.
+Black Wolf_1 yeah man. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Try learning how to shift a 18 speed at the age of 15 Ya my dad jumped in the sleeper and told me to grab the wheel it took a min but I got the hang of the 18 speed quick
Damn dog, that sounds all bad 🤦♂️🤣
Sounds to me like the system works. Some people can do the "job" and some can't.
My dad had me driving a stick at 14 and I started moving mobile homes for the public (money) at 16. Ten and twelve wide ones, not the campers! haha. So many young people these days never see a manual transmission.
Nolan L Manley Jr yes younare right. it works for some and not others. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Nolan Manley what a lie.
Nolan Manley some people aren't stupid enough
Another great training video. In the military we used to say, "Stay Alert.. Stay Alive!"
+cybersoil100 😎 I appreciate that and thank you 👍Also thanks for watching
some people got and some don't ... time to roll time to roll sleeping don't turn them wheels gotta make them miles and get them loads, Jr you a AWESOME instructor and love your vids keep up the good work BROTHER!!!
Trucking isn't for anyone!!! Junior you are a great trainer... God bless you and protect you anywhere brother!!!! Quien dijo miedo
+Mario Barahona you are right and thank you very much 👍👍
Man you can’t put somebody off the truck or fail them because they don’t get up as early as you do.
+Dan Bresnyan Yes you are absolutely right about everything you just said and couldn't agree with you any more. Thank you 👍👍
Totally agree with Jim Lahey & Travis Mitchell.
+luis bahena I appreciate it and I'm glad I was able to clear up TRIFECTA for ya 👍😉. Thank you 👍👍
Junior I wanted to see Steven succeed however I could tell he wasn't into it. Man I thought you showed a lot of patience. Your a good driver and trainer. These students have to understand that they have to want to learn, listen, concentrate and most of all talk out loud there shifting. Thanks for all your videos.
+Dan Sanderson yes and im with you 100%. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
I wish you the best on your journey go and get your CDL man get in theNBA (Never Broke Again)

It is physically tiring but who else is going to pay the bills but you.
god stfu dumbass
YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARE TRAINING, YOU ARE GETTING THEM READY FOR THAT ROAD , SO TUFF LOVE IS GOOD .
1LOVE MY BROTHER FROM ANOTHER MOTHER.
+BIG MIKE that is right 👍👍
Good job junior safety is first and work is right with it!!!
+Bobby Chapman that is correct. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
+Travis Mitchell yes that is very true. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Junior Honduras love your videos man keep up the good work hope to run into you on the road one day
Junior Honduras Junior maybe he needs more time behind the simulator. Getting up and being ready to go early he needs to set his alarm clock a hour early . You diffidently did a great job with him anyhow . I've trained about 4 guys myself and some catch on quicker than others and some don't ever catch on .
+Steve Ontiveros You are 100% right about that and I gave him a chance but it just didnt work out. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
+arthur green yeah man, thanks for watching 👍
Well I was hoping Steven would make it seemed like a good kid for the most part, but your very right in the end you gotta get up and get at it, your also correct when you say by then he should have known the pattern for the gears. Your a great trainer JR keep up the good work love the videos plz keep making them and be safe and keep it rolling, in a few months I wanna change careers and start driving trucks I just wanna get my 20 yrs in where I am now for a few of the bonuses I will get I hope you keep training I would like to have you as a trainer and come to prime anyway keep safe bro keep doing what your doing 👍🚛
yup...
I agree with you 100%. a few tips tho. continually drill him on what gear hes in. every stop light.
you can't make someone have motivation to learn. you are a great trainer. keep up the great work
+Trucker D Saw 👍👍
Enjoy your videos a lot. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Stuff happens, not getting up would be a deal breaker with me. I was really surprised that happened when you mentioned it in your videos. One would think a student would be early.
+chrisretusn yes yes and yes. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
I teach students to upshift at 1400 and downshift at 1000. On a straight 10 there is about 400 rpm's in between shifts so once they get the basics we can start shifting according to situation. Gear recovery is also why I teach those two numbers. We can adjust after that. Great videos though!
+bunker108 Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
WOW !!! sorry to hear that JUNIOR , I heard you in your other videos the importance of getting up early.
I agree with what you're saying! There are just so many times you need to repeat yourself - it should be there. Great training Junior
+Renaldo Powers Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
keep putting up good content Jr. ill be more than happy to share. everyone pass 1 year can relate. but when you get ready to go llc or S corp let me know! peace be with you & yours jr.
no problem. but I got to ask if you could for a video on how to fix lag in editing. I could guarantee you at least 50 new views out this way. thanks again for the info.
+Renaldo Powers Yes but that is something that I haven't done because I know its a very broad topic. Logs is something I want to make sure I get right if not I will have alot of peoplr messed up and I don't want that. 👍👍
+Renaldo Powers I appreciate it and will do my friend. 👍
+Shewanna Jefferson Thank you 👍👍
Hello Junior you made the right decision your truck sure took a beating good luck to Steven semis like he just wasn't getting it.Stay safe .
+Annemarie Altomonte 😆😆😉😉Thank you
I knew I saw you today wanted to get some pictures of the truck just got my trainer 2 days ago. I saw Steven at campus inn at the simulators couldn't get a chance to talk to him. Be safe my man.
+William Vaughn Yeah man you should have came up and said hi. I was there with a few others just talking in the cafeteria. Brik, Kenneth, and Ben to name a few. Until next time 👍😉😃😎
+William Vaughn I wish you the best and you be safe as well 👍
Keep on doing your thing. Got to teach the next drivers and teach the right to be safe. We all have familys out on the road at any give time on any given interstate let be safe.
Your a good trainer bruh keep teaching them the right way, too many trainers out here teaching there students the wrong way. Keep doing your thang
+JacolbyDaTrucker I appreciate it man and I will. Thank you 👍👍
JacolbyDaTrucker whatever no training needed
you are very good trainer and don't let someone get you down
Gracias junior, por tus videos, gracias por tu ayuda.
As a mechanics perspective if your driving a standard highway tractor trailer you should never touch the clutch only when you start of the line. You will destroy the clutch brake please respond I would like to know if your running a different tractor
I have said this many times. Either you got it or you don't. Driving a manual previously really helps with understanding how it works.
Still trying to decide which company and what direction to go back to..Was with Millis and lost my ride there, so looking between Roehl/Prime/Jim Palmer...Stay safe out there
+firemedic 2816 thank you and people dont see that part. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Have about 500,000 miles under my belt and never learned to double clutch. My mentor had me float the gears right away.
Maybe, this is a wake-up for Steven. If he really wants it, he'll be more focused the next time he gets a trainer. Safe travels Brother!
+sabrom 😂😂 you crazy bro. I will continue to do videos just a little different than what I was doing. Thank you 👍👍
While many companies are going to automatics, you should always try and learn, and test on an manual transmission.
+Chris Askfotiy Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
i just seen him out here in pontoon beach Illinois flying j he still struggling shifting but he'll get it one day
+Alexander Posley Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Alexander Posley 😂😂😂😂
Alexander Posley I thought he got his CDL?
He should've been able to get the instruction on not to float during training until he's on his own. Good job getting him out,.
+James Hannah yeah because The double clutching is for CDL testing purposes required by the state. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Para adelante Junior al 💯 si al estudiante le apasiona su trabajo le va a hechar ganas y si no le gusta
No le pondrá importancia .👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Junior, thats too bad about Steven. I was really pulling for him, but in the end. it is what it is. As a trainer we always hope that our student/trainees will make it. It's hard to make the decision, but in the end it's your name that's attached to them.
+Cary churchill I couldn't agree with you more. You are absolutely correct. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
You should make a video with the camera aimed at the speedometer and the RPMs. Then go up the gears and back down through the gears so new drivers can see as well as here exactly when you changing the gears. That would be excellent video to make.
+LOCTU40 im in the process of that now. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Mark
+Mark B Yes you do and yes you can. I just didn't get anyone because I wanted someone near Florida. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
do not beat yourself up because you are a real good trainer he not used to working or getting early. keep move family
+Tracy Taylor Thank you very much and thanks for watching 👍
When I was out with my trainer I hated getting up but I did it anyway. I have my own truck now and my wheels start turning at 3am every morning to make my appointments, sometimes earlier. That bed and pillow aren't going anywhere, it'll still be there at the end of the day.
I just filled out an application for Prime. I've had my class A CDL for 11 years but only drove local. Hopefully I get hired!!
+Jonathan V. Burruel that is nice and goodluck. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
I think you have saved yourself from a really bad situation since he wasn't using the mirrors hardly
+Robert Bruce YOU ARE 100% RIGHT AND EVERYTHING IS ON POINT. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
I'm heading to orientation for Prime next week, I hope we start out in manuals for sure. Who knows what sort of Trucks we'l end up having to drive.
Man u are braver than I am I could not do what you do from Paris Texas
+Waylon Wolfe Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
You can't earn money laying in the bunk. Fact of life.
+Jim Jurena yesssss! I really appreciate it. Thank you 👍😎
Feel bad for Steven man, but you have to be on point driving those trucks.
+Alex Moran Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
I thought double clutching was pretty cool when I first started but I fell in love with floating the gears after that
+handyman50 Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
I want to train with you bro. Going to start school in May. I'm kinda worried about quiting my current job of 19 years to start this venture but I'm sure I can be successful. After watching you train I feel it's going to help that I know how to drive manual very well.
You're a good trainer Junior. Any new driver should consider themselves luck to train with you. I couldn't be a trainer. I don't have enough patience.
+juicejuice64 I really appreciate it. Thank you 👍😎
Hey things happen but hold your head up and be proud of you doing what you thought was right. Hopefully under another trainer maybe he will understand and get the concept on what needs to be accomplished. I hope Steven makes it and is able graduate with flying colors.
in the end bro gotta look out for yourself and your well being ......i wish the best for steven .....stay cool stay positive and as roman atwood says smile more
trucking is at all hours
Wow, I was really hoping Steven made it with Prime.
+argrant45 not saying that he is not going to make it with Prime is that he is not going to make it in my truck. He's back at square one. Thank you 👍👍
Junior Honduras --- If he can't get up he might as well head back to bus terminal. Sent you an email...
bingo you said that right
people that want to get into the truck industry need to realize that u have to get up cause ur load has to be there on time.
+Rodney Phelps Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
We had two guys in their 20s in my class that were lazy. Showing up late, not having all the things they were supposed to bring to class. Every single day it was something.
+Texpantego dang. Not suit for this already. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
+Scott Parry I really appreciate it and thanks for watching 👍👍
Can you think about.... A good flatbed lease TNT Trainer, and a Good flatbed dispatcher over next few weeks? Thanks brother!
i said many video your the good teacher i hope i come the canada. now I am work saudi Arabic diseial trck. Thanks sir.
getting up is the main key to the job someplaces are so strict if u are not there on time they won't unload the truck until u make an appointment again
Resting up at Joplin now but man i never paid attention to the terminal. Are all the terminals that big?
floating gears was how I started driving. double clutching I had to learn which was a cake walk.
+Alejandro Martinez Double clutching is for testing purposes required by the state. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
@@JuniorHonduras I floated when I took my test.
thanks junior for another great video and very good knowledge. can't wait to see your next video junior.
+Jack Durham That is correct and thanks for watching 👍
