Sound engineer here who works with dozens of bands- drinking does not affect singing this badly if anything it can help and singers drink all the time during, before, and after shows

I once remembered getting drunk (not the knocked out too much drunk kind lol) at an office party and it actually helped me loosen up my nervousness and even cleared my throat at whatever was blocking it at that time (phlegm and all) and sang a song on stage and really felt like I sang better than when I was singing in the bathroom ahaha 😅

This is a great example of people who aren't actually talented at singing, who happened to slide under the radar by releasing a couple of catchy tunes that became popular. They don't usually sound very good or they sound horrible when they sing live.

you people that think todays singers have talent got a taste of what us older generation have been telling you for years. when you go to a concert or listen to the radio, you are not hearing the artist true voice, it is a cleaned up version with pitch correction, and several other modifications, these are explained and discussed on a level even you might understand if watch some videos from wings of pegasus , he goes into detail about the recording industry and even picks out some of the older stars and how great they were live. btw, ive been to a concert in the 60s where jerry lee lewis was so drunk he needed help getting on the stage to his piano, he was hours late getting to the show, it was in san antonio texas at the old Randys Rodeo on bandera rd, he put on a performance that was one of the greatest shows ive ever seen, brought the house down, the owner locked the doors at 2 am because of city code for night clubs and he played and sang until almost daylight. drunk or not, the voice doesn't change that much, it isn't her fault, most of todays singers are the same, the public expects perfection even if it's manufactured, i prefer the old bar room and honky tonk sounds that were real and a little raspy at times.

To be fair. I'm a musician. It's one thing for me to sing with the band. It's a whole nother thing to sing a cappella. Especially this song. But to also be fair, I don't know that I could sing this that bad even drunk and reallly nervous.
