OMG you crack me up. "Now I'm psycho analyzing myself....." too funny! I love all these techniques. Think I need to go "rescue" the paper bags in my recycle bin before they get hauled to the street...
@@queencityminis HAHAHA I'm on it! Also, I want to pick your brain. I've told you in the past that you've inspired me to "collect trash". I have a clear plastic square hand soap container with a hole in the top that is just begging to be used for something. It is 4.5 x 2.75 x 3". Any suggestions???
I love your creativity and imagination with miniatures! Too many miniaturists over use 3D printers or wood laser printers, and don’t create art the way you do. Thank you for sharing your creative ideas with us!
Thank you very much! I love making things from scratch and using trash and recyclables to make minis. I think technology is an awesome tool but I'm too impatient to deal with it.
Totally agree with you...the idea of making ANYTHING from scratch, reusing and repurposeing what you already have...is an earth friendly Hobbie. LOVE LOVE LOVE the home made miniatures by this amazing Artist.
I love how you made the faux leather book covers but I don't have the matte Mod Podge, only the Satin finish. Can I still use the satin Mod Podge to make the faux leather book covers?
I have made miniature books, I thought they all needed a spine and flip through paper even the ones that are smaller than a dime (American dime) This is so much so better, I even made an open book, so fun. I love the post-it note idea 🤗🤗🤗♥️♥️
That's great! You can add as much or as little detail as you want for sure. Making a mini book with proper book binding technique is a bit too much work for my liking.
I love making books. I will be adding your ideas and suggestions to mine. I never used the board but will. I keep stacks of old magazines and when bored or between projects I cut some up and am ready. I will be making some CD's and DVDs I have lots of mat board (I used to do my own framing). Thanks you have tweaked the gray cells
Thank you so much for doing this tutorial! I'm obsessed with making tiny books at the moment and will be doing at least two library mini book nooks (one in a mint tin and one in an actual old book). I want a variety of books with different sizes and covers, so I will definitely be using your magazine cutout and faux leather techniques here. I've also used Mod Podged fabric scraps for some covers. I made two CD cases and a vinyl record sleeve based on your CD here too. 😃
Watching this video brought back memories of when I made books for my daughter's dollhouse, back in the mid 90's. Back then, it was easy to find book cover images to use for them...and album covers, too. There was no shortage of junk mail from various book clubs, and Columbia House with their "10 albums for $1" offers. They all became fodder.
I, also, use the spines of glued magazines & catalogs, but never thought of adding the leather-look binding. I learn a lil something from all your videos. Thanks so much for the tutorial!
I love using the thicker catalogs/magazines for books, I have tons of them ready to be covered. I do use the mags with staples but only cut where the staple is so it looks like a magazine and the pages stay together with that staple. Live the idea for the DC's, so cute.

I used catalog pictures of bed sheet sets wrapped around a paper straw for Christmas wrapping paper rolls.
