I went out there today for the first time. Surf forecast was awesome and the seas weren't forecasted too bad. But that 10MPH North-eastern wind was terrible lol. Kept pushing me north pretty fast. ended up being really choppy wind waves and I called it quits after an hour and a half.
Might think about giving it another go tomorrow if the wind dies down a little. Best part is I like like 15 minutes away and don't feel too bad driving down there for nothing if I have to call it quits :)
You can keep one octopus a day in Oregon! Pretty insane stuff
Octopus! Awesome! I like your content dude.
Awesome video. I'm still around, just finally getting situated and waiting for the summer!

Yes, the wind can be the biggest obstacle.

That's awesome!
Hey looking to head out and fish the Rock. This would be my first time. Magic seaweed is showing 3.5 @ 7secs. 1-5 MPH wind. Stay or go?
I would go in those conditions. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday look a little better. Get there early and leave before the wind picks up.
Where is this place? Is there any pier in Oregon? Thx. :)
This is Cape Kiwanda. There is a pier in Newport.
How hard is it to kayak out to that rock?
It takes about 15 minutes. The hard part is crossing the surf. 3-5 foot surf can be difficult.
