  • Crabbing in Tillamook, Oregon using a garden rake is an exciting idea. We have seen many people catching crabs using this method, but this was the our first attempt simply because it's too far away. It took us around 5 hours driving from Seattle to Tillamook, Oregon.
Crabbing season is normally open all year round in Oregon. Crabbers are allow to keep up to 12 male Dungeness crabs with minimum size of 5 3/4 inches, and 24 red rock crabs of either sex (no size limit) per day. As a non resident, we can purchase an shellfish license online, which cost around $28 for full year.
Originally, we plan to stay there for two nights and check out couple spots, including the Tillamook Bay and Netarts Bay, since we were not familiar with the area. However, things didn't go as planned. The wild storm arrived in the morning of the second day, so we decided to head home for safety reasons. We will definitely try again when time allowed.

Netarts Bay in Oregon. I believe people can do the same at Tillamook Bay because these bays have little opening and crabs stuck in the bay during low tide.

Don’t boiled them alive, that is cruelty. Kill them quick and then boil once it is dead and can not feel pain. Respect all life, is what makes some of us human cause we can feel for others.

So what you are saying is that the life of Tillamook bay is dead. No longer can a man live on clame and fish in her waters, sad.
