Laquinta Mentlow you right, you look at flo and mary more at this tape.flo looks beautiful and her shape was gorgeous, as Diana got beautiful and successful, and put beautiful song out , I do notice flo really stand out too and you can hear her Harmony here on the tape. I wish she would of made it she reminds me of the late Aretha Franklin I have a old album by flo one of my friends collect oldie and he gave one, to me she had a nice strong voice she could of been a gospel singer Diana voice is more commercial.
+Marty - In the book by Tony Turner, "All that Glittered: My life with the Supremes, Tony wrote that Berry did make passes at Flo but she wasn't interested in the short Napoleonic man. BG was calling her fat and trying to make her feel bad about herself, but everyone can see that in the beginning of the group, Flo had the best body. She was voluptuous . Flo was a bombshell and Diana looked anorexic. ! Later on, Diana began to fill out and look much better.
Diana was the star, but Florence was very eye-catching as well. Adorable Mary completed the package. America's number one group, at their peak here.

Flo was known as the "STACKED ONE" (to the non-Black readers, stacked means very thick or voluptuous & exceptionally curvy - which usually represents a woman w/a small waste, a big butt, nice shapely, thick legs & a pair of nice boobs but not necessarily big boobs). Having watched countless old Supremes videos tho, I.M.O. Flo certainly was NOT stacked, certainly not by 2days standards.

Discovering this old footage was a real treat for me, of all the African-American entrepreneurs I was inspired by as kid, Berry Gordy Jr. and John H. Johnson(the publisher of Ebony and Jet magazine), were the two that had the biggest influence on my own business endeavors.
No wonder most of us born in the 60s dress differently! They were truly inspirations of class and beauty.
Diana Ross was the supremes! With a voice like that, she had a sound all to herself that was inimitable. It was soulful, clear, well articulated, emotive, playful, sensual, pitch perfect and with that special tone.
Diana Ross Did Not Have A Soulful Voice. She Had A Pop Whitish Voice With 2 Girls Who Had Soulful Voice, That Blended Well

Plenty of musical acts appeared on both "To Tell the Truth" and "What's My Line" through the years, but rarely were they allowed to perform (it would have been difficult and cumbersome to set up for a single musical number). The fact that they made arrangements for the Supremes to sing live on the show was a testament to their talent and their huge popularity.

You can see here why Flo was the one who brought the men out ... however all three of them were very beautiful and it probably was one of the factors of their huge success.

I have the deepest respect for Mr. Berry Gordy!!! I so admire what he created with Motown!!! What a success story!!! It's interesting to see Florence Ballard standing in the middle next to Diana! Diana Ross is as beautiful and charismatic as ever! It's a shame Mr. Gordy and Florence couldn't reconcile their differences. Without Florence, it just wasn't "The Supremes"!!! What destroyed the group was when Mr. Gordy and Diana Ross became lovers. It naturally complicated things between the three, especially with Diana and Florence! What infuriated Miss Ballard was that Berry Gordy changed their name to Diana Ross And The Supremes. Florence began to not show up at concerts in disgust and was eventually ousted from the group. Let's face it, Diana Ross was a very gifted "Lead Singer"! Florence Ballard had a wonderful and especially strong Harmony and Background Vocal! Very Gospel! Please listen to "A Breath Taking Guy", released in 1963, which should have been a big hit but unbelievably wasn't. It features Florence and Mary Wilson taking turns singing a Lead Vocal. Motown should have stuck with that formula but decided to make Diana's Lead Vocal more prominent and relegated Florence and Mary to basically being background Vocalists! I always thought Florence to be so very cute! Florence was of mixed race and possessed a light complexion! Her nickname was "Blondie'. You know, just some love, care and compassion would have cured Florence's feelings of anger, bitterness and depression. R.I.P. FLORENCE GLENDA BALLARD CHAPMAN

Ross has soul and then some. She did have to learn how to sing more soulfully, though. You don't stay in the business (and remain successful ) as long as she has without picking up some valuable life lessons and singin bout it. Actually nowadays Diana, Florence and Mary are consider “skinny” in the U.S according to the Current Beauty Standards!!! They were consider very thin but had some curves but not really ‘actually’ too slender, just on good shape. They were in good shape and not so overweight, actually.
