Berry Gordy was/is a genius. His Motown was one of the greatest creative hit producers in history. Those songs still set feet to dancing and hearts to racing.
It was such a confluence of serendipitous good fortune with Berry Gordy 's will and wisdom and being in a city with so much talent like Smokey, Diana, Marvin etc. And knowing how to get the best from such a wide variety of mercurial and brilliant artists... and we are all the better for it

Please Mr. Postman hit number 1 on the Hot 100 on Dec. 11, 1961. Give historic credit and respect where it's due!!!!!
