My SIG 522 Classic has been dependable. Feeds every .22 ammo I tried. Folks at the shooting range ask to shoot it. Sure wish the SIG Beancounters would re-issue this great carbine.
@@HKShootingwithDerekG I've had mine out twice now, once at an indoor range attempting to use it with the iron sights that were on it when I bought it (but I suspect was not the correct rear sight, as it was impossible to get it sighted in correctly), and once at an outdoor range with a cheap scope on it. Definitely better with the scope, and I can say without hesitation that it is absolutely the most FUN out of anything else I own. Mine is the later revision non-extendable stock and has a 20" barrel. Especially with it being discontinued, it's great to have access to buying extra mags direct from Black Dog, as the prices for the Sig branded mags are absolutely insane when you can even find them. I've only got about 400 rounds through it, but so far haven't had any feeding issues with either the steel or nylon lipped Black Dog magazines (I bought some of each after reading that some units prefer one or the other).
I will be picking up my last Sig on 2-2-22 which is the Sig 522 target to fill my collection, I haven't shot any over the 5 years I have been buying them but will at least take the target one to the range. It makes the last of the 5 that Sig made and I am picking up an OD green Sig Mosquito 22 pistol at the same time. There is no reviews on the target model on TH-cam but if anyone has feedback on it I would appreciate it, thank you in advance.
Could you please let me know how long the guide rod is for the bolt? I am trying to revive one of these that was given to me, and some parts are missing.
@@WalterWhite-gw3vm I didn’t that day but the rifle itself it very accurate...especially with magnified optics....of course with 22lr accuracy is really more about what ammo one is using as well as optic/trigger press
Not Swiss made. It’s SiG Sauer inc “USA” But yes “based” off the 556 which is based off the Swiss made 550 Probably one of nicest .22 made. Sig abandoned the 556 line and took this with it. Nice video.
Ive got the 522 swat and I love that little gun, it’ll cycle cci down to the lowest grade junk ammo you can get your hands on. Definitely worth every penny I paid for it.
30yr gun collector here. I have 3 still NIB 2012 classic 522 and 2 Sig 556's as well as whenever a guns goes out of production it becomes somewhat collectible. I buy all my new guns in pairs or more. Some to keep and one to shoot etc. If you check gunbroker etc there are almost zero NIB 522's for sale. I only trade and sell via private contacts or forums etc. Anyway the one I do shoot still chugs along to this day after about 10k rounds only minor spring replacements were needed other than that runs great dirty like any 22 but great.
I have one of these and I like it. The Black Dog magazines can be problematic in some rifles (they were in mine), and would cause numerous failure to feeds. I eventually gave up on the BD mags and threw them in the bin. I then purchased some Smith & Wesson mags and carried out some basic modifications which resulted in flawless, accurate shooting over thousands of rounds. My Sig prefers HV ammo but will shoot standard with no issues. As such, I feed it almost exclusively on Mini-Mag 40gn. The Sig is good kit and works well. Recommended!

I have a classic too, and absolutely love it. Eats it all up and is accurate. Will def be a collector type 22 in the years to come.
sig needs to bring this gun and parts back. There are too many ar-15's out there and this one is different, and thats a good thing..

I have one, I have a lazer pointer , really nice flip up battle sights, and a nice 3x9 scope. Its a keeper....
Just to put it out there. The flash hider is removable, this rifle is suppressor ready out of the box.
