Sig 522 Overview & Review - Part 1

- A quick (well, I tried!...had to break it up into four parts...) overview and review of the Sig 522 .22 rifle. Includes specs, a walkthrough of the major parts of the rifle and comments along the way. This is my opinion on this rifle, having owned it now for a few weeks. Hope you enjoy it and feel free to post any questions you may have. BTW, I still have a bit of a cold so I apologize for the audio!

I picked up mine today and I was pleased to find that it had this same style flash suppressor as apposed to the M4 style.Look at other 522 vids and you'll see what Im talking about.A rep told me only 97 were made this way before they decided to go with the other look..I like this one better.

That's not a bayonet lug, it's a bayonet lug mount, and is not fully machined, it needs the hold bored straight thru the side center for the roll pin that secures the actual lug in the mount, you can see this on the 556. My 522 came with green stocks and the rail kit included. The stocks are the same as on the 556 and are interchangeable, I swapped the green stocks on to my 556. I didn't know that those extra little parts were for the collapsible stock, so thanks for letting me know that.

Watched all 4 parts. Excellent work. I have just one question. Is the hinge pin for the folding butt stock accessible? Being able to remove the stock completely might be an advantage at times.
im gona get one of these. didnt know they dont come with a scope. i dont know much about these. but i wanted the cheapest scope possible. i dont need a real long range one. but are they universal or do you have to get them from sig??? were would be the cheapest place to order one
I use a .22LR suppressor on two different pistols and an AR15 converted to .22LR, I was wondering if the barrel end is threaded for 1/2 x 28, so that I can use my sound suppressor.
My wife is looking for a new .22LR and I'm thinking the SIG552 might be fun for her and me.
i have to chose between this one and either sw mp-15 22, or hk 416 22, i cancelled the ruger sr 22.
does you magazine jam? I have a 25 rounds sig522 magazine that jam every time I load more than 15 rounds in it, the spring just stuck in middle and didn't push the rounds up to the chamber. When I tap it and free the spring, the rounds facing little bit dowward and didn't feed into the chamber, it just jam the chamber.
does it come with the scope?
If you have and use a SIG 556, and want to get 'used to' using the 556. You can take this out a lot, and fire thousands of rounds downrange and not waste thousands on ammo. Then take the accessories, sights, etc off and put them back on your 'work' 556, zero the sight and poof. You are in business.
