I have a 2007 type s and love it!!! Paint matches the wheels and it’s just a super clean car. Single owner that I got from my step dad when he went to a g37s because the TL had 90k miles on it and that was high mileage for him…
Big thing I like to do when it comes to brakes is whenever I remove the rotor either to replace or resurface I always put a metal wire brush on the wheel hub to get as much of the surface rust off as possible And then I always put a layer of anti-seize on the hub before I put the rotor back on That way It won't rust weld itself to the hub And it makes life a whole lot easier when servicing it again
Love the video quality, camera work, and editing. You guys should make 10-20 minute long compilation music videos of all the little detail work. No talk, no explanations, just straight work and final results. Would be awesome as a background playlist on the big screen in the garage.
AHC Garage No problem. The video could be sort of a final summary from begining to end of each car project after making all the regular individual videos.
I just recently did a brake overhaul on my 07 Type S. Along with a complete suspension overhaul. All parts powder coated. Calipers done in Tiger Red. Love watching your videos. Super informative and thorough on the process. Keep them coming!!
I put EBC Red Stuff pads and grooved rotors on mine. I need to paint the calipers and was debating taking them off and getting them powder coated but I might just do a DIY job on them now 👍
Dont mind me, this comment is my own notes for when I tackle this soon 💪🏽 My 2004 6spd’s calipers are in same common rough shape, grey w/ all the clear gone and Acura logos faded :( 4:00 DIY start, caliper removal 10:20 caliper prep 12:21 caliper painting 18:12 done 20:30 finished results
@@ahcgarage thank you guys for the excellent video guide, and all the DIYs on this project! Oh and I was able to find the exact same paint n clear spray cans at my local Advance. Dupli-color Gloss Black enamel brake paint + gloss engine clear (the engine clear is rated the same high temp as the caliper paint, 500*F which most street driving will never ever reach!)
Awesome love the attention to detail! I was shocked by the non-OEM Brembo decal on the front calipers but a nice decision to show off the actual brand of them! It takes the right machine to properly cut the rotors. In my experience it never works right so I just buy new OEM ones online. How do you guys work at an Acura dealer on your own cars?🤔
Great video guys, very entertaining. Brian has shown us the machine that skims brake rotors before and I noticed what looked like a bicycle chain around the outside of the rotor when it's in the machine, can you tell me what that is please. love the outtakes 🤣 please show more of them 👍
Great catch. The chain we placed around the brake rotor during resurfacing is to eliminate vibration during the cutting process. We will definitely keep our camera rolling and catch more of our goofs. Thanks for your support
I just found this channel and it's great because I got a 2007 Kenetic Blue Pearl Auto with 187k. I need to do more maintenance than modification like engine/transmission mounts, valve cover gaskets and valve adjustment, power steering pump overhaul and all the fluid changes. Since you guys are working at an Acura dealership, are there any other recommendations at 187k to do?
At 15:30, there are heat shield shims right above the front brake pads. Are they necessary (given the shields already on the front pads), or redundant?
What part number are the bolts that hold the caliper down it's 2 bolts I believe 19mm I can't find them anywhere I want to order them from my local Acura dealership
How often do you guys get the issue where the caliper bolt is galled at the last couple of threads into the aluminum Brembo? And what is the best way to remove them without ruining the caliper? My 07 UA7 put up a good fight so left it alone for the time being.
That usually caused by over tighten or corrosion build-up. You can lube it with some penetrating oil while you turn the bolt loose (or both direction). Once it’s out, use a Tap & Die set your clean out the threads. Apply some Anti-Seize lubricant on the threads before you reinstall and torque down the bolts
AHC Garage Thank you, that’s better advice than most of what I see posted out there. Keep up the honest and well detailed content and lastly, this has to be the best Honda purist channel on TH-cam. Period.

The official instructions doesn't really specify but I seen it installed flush with the line off the dealer and it was known to be the "right way" on forums. Which.. kind of makes sense given there's a perfectly visible bumper line that lines up exactly with the a-spec.
Agreed. It would makes total sense if they actually line up with the bumper but it doesn’t. However you can force it up to line up with the rear bumper but not something we like to do.

I wouldn't say best, but def one of the best.
Really appreciate the focus on using OEM parts👍🏻

Glad you pick one up yourself 👍🏼
luis howler Are you planning on replacing the timing belt soon? I’m at 132k in mine and not sure when to get it done
Timing belt should be replace every7-8 years or 90k miles, whichever comes first

The paint society guy is amazing
Personally when it comes to brake pads I always use akebono brake pads on all my cars for quality, reliability, and noise akebono's are SUPER quiet
Finally caught up on the entire build! Keep up the work guys..
Awesome! Thank you!
These videos are so damn good and super relaxing to watch 😀👍
Thanks 😊 👍🏼
Why is your Acura dealer so advanced and nice. My Acura dealer is like a jiffy lube.

You’re very welcome
Kinda wish you guys painted the front and rear calipers the same color
At first we were but at the end we wanted to keep the oem finish/color
Could you post links in the description for the paint and clear sprays you used, and the brake pad piston spreader? Thanks!
Nice video🔥 I have a 2012 tsx special edition same color I wanna make the brakes cleaner
👍🏼👍🏼
I dig it, but where do you get the proper Acura or Brembo decals from?
Beautiful TL. Did the TL-S come with Brembo, while the RL came with Advics??
Great Job guys.... best in the biz
Thanks!!!
Let's see more of the nsx
Will do
Question do u have the link for that Brembo Sticker you put on the caliper ??
i work for the acura before, and all of the time they use on car rotor cut , never seen anyone use the off car rotor machine XD
We have the on-car brake lathe also, the off car lathe makes it easier for this job

Thanks for joining us. You pretty much hit all of the items that’s recommended
@AHC Garage
Where did you find a new A spec kit! Help a brother out!
I'm surprised you all didn't clean up the metal brake retainers! They look rusty as hell!
The metal retainer clips won't affect the braking operation or enhance the look since they will be conceal within the calipers
Why didn't they clean the front metal brake pad clips and pins. looks so bad against the new.
Hey i really wanna do this on my TL S, where do you get those Brembo stickers also do you need the piston Separator or can you use something else
Amazon will have both items that you are looking for. Set of stickers for less than $6-8 and brake caliper piston tool for less than $25
AHC Garage link for the paint?
Hey AHC, awesome video! Can we get links for the paint cans you guys used ?
I want to say duplicolor black caliper paint
Great video, really love this series 👌🏼👌🏼. Is it me or does Jeremy look like Hank Scorpio from The Simpsons 🤔
He does, haha!!!
G'dammit...I do.

TLX and Type-S will be fun. We will pass along your recommendation to Mike 😁
Can't wait to do mine too...This car is so sexy now!
Thanks!!!
