This happened to me on my 2013 XTS, steering controls dark, center console controls dark, CUE screen dark (except reverse video fine). Moving the seat didn't work, but after I replaced my seven year old battery all functionality was restored following a few reprogramming steps. Total bill $150.
If u haven't gotten it fixed yet, I had this happen too and all I had to do was detach the 2 battery cables, take them all the way off the little poles, then just put them right back on, tighten everything up and everything came right back on when I started the car up
i have a 2014 ats and it’s completely out…. i tried the unplugging battery and even “rebooting”. buttons work, just not the screen, bluetooth & back up camera. SOS 🆘
My XTS just went out for what seems like good, didn't work for me but a lot of people found that just unhooking the negative cable for 2min then hooking it back fixed it for them
@Arlene Janelle that sucks, I just took mine in to Cadillac last week, both the screen and HMI needed to be replaced, which without warranty ran me about $2400, I read afterwards you can get it online replace the HMI somewhat easily with walkthru vids but you would need to get it programmed for your car, but since I'm not handy I had to bite the bullet
Didn't work on mine but I took the battery cables off then put them back on, tightened them and boom! Everything worked again so guess it just needed to be reset
@cassiestcyr2435 just take the positive battery cable under the hood all the way off then put it back on and tighten it down and it should reset the system
Ok if you got your SRX jump started and the QUE CONSOLE WENT blank/black. No worries there is nothing wrong. Only a surge. Touch the screen everything’s working A/C, only the radio, and backup camera aren’t coming on, and there’s no light. Simple fix. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for one minute. Then reconnect turn on the engine the screen will light up. You should not have any other problems with the QR screen. Note: This vehicle is really not designed to jump, on use a DIE HARD JUMP STARTER KIT. But that’s it!
It didn't work for me im going to get it replaced under aftermarket warranty. However this time im going with a tesla style replacement because i hate onstar and cue system sucks. Then i have my privacy back and no Cue.
Cadillac has a short it’s not a fix, the hmi needs to be replaced , order a used 1 or refurbished then get it program to your vin number, this problem becomes worse to the point you will have nothing just black screen

sadly , did not work for me....had this problem after I changed the cabin air filter....on my way to get scammed at the dealership now , lol
And they will definitely try to scam you.

It may take a few times. Remember if everything else is working properly it’s just a surge

Same thing is happening to my xts right now cluster dash turn on but it glitches out a lot so now won’t even stay on fully I hate it honestly

My 2017 XT5 dash lights are dim then suddenly brighten to normal. WTF
2018 XT5. Worked for us. Very strange, but hey it worked!
