    Thank you so much for making this. Cadillac should pay you. This is such a common failure for Cadillac's it seems it was a huge engineering oversight for them to not consider low quality parts requiring regular cumbersome maintenance. Thanks Mr. Rocheleau for making it possible for everyone outside the dealerships! I've heard people pay $700-$2000 to get this replaced. THANK YOU!!!

    Worked like a charm! Many thanks.
    I used to do a lot of car stereos, and in later years worked for NASA. To say this an absolutely ridiculous, self-eating watermelon of a design, is a massive understatement! Classic engineering overthink.
    Regardless, my girlfriend is ecstatic that her car is fixed for a grand total of $52 dollars and not the $900 the dealership quoted. So you did me a solid, brother. Thanks!

    Thank you! Fixed my friend's 2016 SRX. Dealer already charged him $300 to "diagnose" before he mentioned it to me (and dealer quoted him another $1500 to fix) Found out it was a common issue on the SRX that the digitizer goes bad.
    Not sure if the Cue digitizer is worth the extra money, but that's the one I bought. I like they include the two tools, didn't bother to watch their videos or read the instructions, just used your video. Everything is pretty straight forward. I would say have a magnetized #1 phillip screwdriver is helpful. The two screws on each side of the center console trim was a pain in the butt for me, but you seem to have no issue with it, I was using a 7mm socket with a spinner handle, plus an open end wrench and ratchet wrench, end up dropping one screw down between the plastics. Anyways, my friend is happy everything is working. Now I have to work on my 2014 Camry which also has the same issue. Seems like there's a lot of digitizer failures from those years.

    • @GregRocheleau
      @GregRocheleau  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I understand the dealership frustration. They wanted to charge me to diagnose before they would tell me if they would warranty this known problem. With a little skill and TH-cam you can save yourself some money.

      @@nedflanders5629 I just pulled it open. Without power it will open manually. You are right I should have shown that on video.

    Thanks for sharing! I have a 2013 and just preparing for needed repairs before they happen. This looks like a usage dependent failure based on mileage? How many miles on the SRX before the needed replacement? Thanks again for the excellent video!
