#3 passed out at the wheel on first lap ands then became disoriented. It was all caused by herniated disc in his neck. I watched an interview where he said he had never dealt with so much pain as he did that year.
Thank you for recording and uploading all these old races. I wish you would leave the old commercials in. It would be just like watching the original broadcast back in the day.
One disturbing race. 1. What REALLY happened to Earnhardt here? Well never know, at the time people were guessing he had been poisoned. 2. Jeff Gordon with those 15 year old looks, 13 year old voice and that sponsor that got busted in a sting involving…..15 year old boys. There. I wrote it.
I can't help but wonder how the reaction would have been if Burton did indeed try to spin out Gordon. Considering that Gordon was not exactly a fan favorite at this time, methinks it might have been the opposite of Earnhardt/Labonte Bristol 1999- where the wrecker wouldn't have been booed into oblivion.
The year dale was broken cause of1996 talledega if only he would of got surgery in 1996. 1999 Atlanta hit home for that injury and he had to get surgery.
The injuries Dale got didn't require surgery, but he should not have been in the car. He admitted later that racing like he did after the crash only slowed down his recovery, and no doubt played a role in his (for his standard) subpar 1997 season.
This is why we need now Monster Energy Million. Just liked the Winston Million. And the No. Bull 5 to put Monster 5.
1:10:00 Wow, that's two times in this race that a car that would have backed into the wall backed into another car on the high line instead

From the Talladega wreck the year before?
He went out and got drunk the night before with Childress and Skinner and a few others, he was still drunk at the start of the race. True story.
@@HOOSIERDADDY24 I say bullshit but funny
I think the herniated disk was from his Atlanta accident in '99.
1997 was Dale Sr's first winless season since 1981, the only two full time seasons of his career that he didn't win a race.
I remembered when I watched this race it was awesome.
This was the day I became a Jeff Burton fan
Ok video, it would have been better if you included the post race coverage in your video.
