Another great video. Thank you! Is there a quick way to get rid of the wet clicks (the fine lines in the spectral view) other than going through by hand and 'painting' them out? I'm editing hours of audio and it really slows my workflow. Or is there more I can do in the recording to stop this. I'm using a SM7B and about to start using a Rodecaster Pro in a booth. Cheers.

I don't think you'd want to remove them but just use the DeEsser to make them non offensive to the listener

So assuming I wanted to apply the deesser effect, should I apply it before EQ or after?
I’d noticed sibilance being more of a problem in my processed audio and this video pointed out that the EQ is magnifying that, kinda a duh moment for me. However when I apply the deesser at the end I feel like I can’t seem to get rid of it. Maybe applying it earlier would be better.
There’s two schools of thought on this. Some say apply it before EQ and some say after EQ. It works either way.

where would you put the de esser in the signal chain?
You can either put it before or after EQ. It's possible when adding EQ that you could add back sibilance.
Only thing I was missing in your tutorial is whether the changes take automatic effect. You jump from reviewing the preview to it just taking effect. Was there a 'confirm' or 'apply' user flow?
You can either add the effect from the effects menu in which case it takes effect the minute you press apply after configuration or you can apply it from the effects rack in which case it works when you apply the effects rack.

In the previous Siblance tutorial from two years ago, you aimed at the pick in Frequency Analysis and said it was the number we should put in the Center. Isn't it the case?
You would set this "by ear". Too much sibilance is bad and too much reduction is equally bad.
@@MikeRussell ah, that's a shame :( I do have a good ear, but I was hoping visual info would help to do it quicker and more precisely.

I'd recommend doing anything to "repair" the audio before doing enhancements such as EQ. Although having removed in sibilance with DeEsser be careful not to add it back with EQ

Sibilance is a distorted sound made in the high frequencies of audio usually by "s" sounds.

Not being sexist but that is generally the case due to the make up of human voices.
