Don't let that stop you. I believe the microphone is your greatest friend. Have a look at the Blue mics, several models provide some unique sounds for your voice. I use the snowball which offers a really nice warm sound. They are all direct USB plug and play without an interface and sound great! I think the phantom amps and interfaces are great for intermediate to advanced users, but are just not critical enough for beginners like me.

Thanks, good tutorial, though I take exception to any love for Apple's "Magic" Mouse, which is a truly ill conceived piece of hardware, which could never have been seriously considered for human use. The Logitech MX Master series is just as expensive, but fits the hand better and has a horizontal scroll wheel right where the thumb can use it. It also comes with Adobe pre-sets.

You are BRILLIANT! Thank you so much for this. I have had audition downloaded to my computer for a LONG time (I already had it because we use illustrator and have the plan with all the apps) and had been terrified to use it. Audacity keeps crashing on me, or I lose audio and I had finally had enough! Today was the day- but I opened it up and felt so overwhelmed. I don’t feel overwhelmed anymore, and think I have a pretty good handle on it!. Now I just need to figure out how to install my RX plugins and I’ll be good!

a list of changes of controls and UI from cs6 till now.
My friend had a hard copy of a cs6 production course from Udemy (I believe it's old but I watched it anyway) and I found the shortcuts and the interface were a lot different from the CC version.

Hey Mike, awesome content! I've followed your instructions step by step. I can hear myself in my headphones and see the light on my interface going green when I speak. Yet, once I hit record, not one bit of audio is picked up. Any suggestions?

If you're monitoring from your interface you'll hear yourself whether you've set up Audition correctly to record. Go into preferences, set your audio hardware to be your interface and then into channel mapping and make sure the channels are mapped correctly

Hi Mike. Thank you for all the work you do and support you offer :-) I have a Q about markers and sped up audio. If I speed up audio and set markers at certain places for timestamps ( for raw audio snippets for video editors to find ) or even suggested points for audiogram snippets , they don't stick to the same place when I bring the audio back to the original speed. I'm editing in multi track. If you can offer advise I would greatly appreciate it!

Markers attach to the timeline at the given time so if you speed up or slow down the audio it will increase or decrease in length meaning the markers will move out of alignment.
Instead you could mark up the points in the clips and your markers will be visible in the clips in the multitrack regardless of whether or not you've sped up the clips in multitrack.

Hey, Mike that was really helpful. I am making a mashup of songs and I would like to add some drumbeat or any beat pattern to the final. Could you suggest where I could get them, preferably free?

Hi. You can create your own loops in FL studio on PC or Logic on Mac. That would be your best way.

Wow! AMAZING! Could you show to record with minus one music?

You mean how to set up a mix minus? That differs depending on your audio set up.
