  • My Kubota L2800 tractor started leaking hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic cylinder on the LA463 loader. I don't have a workshop, bench vice, or fancy tools, but with a few simple tricks and some elbow grease, I got my seals replaced and you can too!
    These how-to hacks should work on a wide variety of equipment parts. Be sure to check your tractor or implement manual before ordering seals or purchasing hydraulic fluid and follow manufacturer specs.
    Here are links to some of the basic tools I used in lieu of ordering specific tools for this job.

    Thank you for the very informative video. With your help I just successfully completed my first cylinder rebuild. It's something I've wanted to learn for many years. I have the same tractor and loader as yours so it was good knowing exactly what to expect when I cracked it open. I also have a 379 Pete in the background except mine is a 10 car parking lot with 42 hydraulic cylinders, thus the need to learn this skill😊Thanks again brother. Stay safe. RC in NC

    This is exactly the tractor/loader we have and we are needing to replace the seals. With your help, I think my husband will be able to do it himself. Thank you for a well explained and helpful video!

    So thanks again from Sweden.

    Great job and excellent tips. I'm curious to know what this would have cost to take it to a dealer to repair. 🚜🙂

    On my cylinders where the wiper seal end seals threaded cap there is an Allen screw. It looks like a hole for the spanner wrench but there is an Allen screw inside locking the end cap. You may not have one but beware..

      Good to know! I'll check mine when I get home from work, I certainly didn't notice an Allen screw before, but it would be good to make sure!

    I enjoyed watching so I know what to do but it does look like you damaged the inner seals when installing.

      if I did, it had no impact... no leaks several months later, but yeah... be as careful as you can.

    I did my tilt cylinders now I want to do my lift cylinders.. My massey hasn't been re-sealed in 60 years.. Question is are my lift cylinders and my tilt cylinders the same seal kits ?

    • @FromtheRootsUp
      @FromtheRootsUp  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not sure on your Massey, might even be different depending on the model of loader. MasseyTractorParts.com has a chat link right on the website, and if you give them the model of your loader, they can probably look and see if the same seal kit works for both or not.

    What is your serial number on the loader. What kit did you buy?

      This is the one that worked for my model... pre 24767 s/n. It's currently showing unavailable from the same seller I used on Amazon, but the numbers are there in the description: amzn.to/3yKx4GI

    Did you have to depressurize the front end hydraulic system before disconnecting the hoses?

    • @FromtheRootsUp
      @FromtheRootsUp  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The only thing I did was make sure the bucket was resting on the ground, so nothing could move while I removed the hoses. Someone else can correct me, but my understanding of hydraulics is when you use the lever to move something you're just directing the flow of fluid, pressured by the pump, to the part you want that pressure on... so if the pump is not pumping, there shouldn't be any pressure .. unless gravity is pulling a raised bucket down putting pressure on that side of the line.
