Great ideas as always! I would add a packable backpack. I got one on Amazon that folded into itself into a small square that fit easily in my purse or could be clipped onto your purse with a carabiner. I used it several times in Japan to hold items I bought while out for the day. My husband and I are thinking about a Norway, Sweden, and Germany trip! I look forward to seeing the videos of your trip! Your Japan videos were very beautiful and helpful!!! Thank you!
Have you had luck using a converter in a European country with a blow dryer? I have heard they will still burn out and I don’t want to take my expensive blow dryer and ruin it the first time I plug it in.
There are dual voltage hair dryers that you can get. I’ve used them on the past, but last time one of mine burnt up. I bought a hairdryer and curling iron in the Uk last year so I could is when I travel overseas.
In the past few years, I have not packed a hair dryer because everywhere I stayed had hair dryers available. I do have a dual voltage curling wand that worked great! And here is a bit of explanation regarding the difference between converters and adapters: "Many countries operate on voltages different from the US standard of 120 volts. For instance, most of Europe utilizes 220 - 240 volts. This discrepancy can pose a risk to your devices, especially for devices like hair dryers, curling irons and shavers if not properly addressed. However, most electronics (Laptops, cameras, headphones, mobile phones) are now dual voltage, which means they can withstand several voltages and require a travel adapter like Epicka."
I used to love Aloha and they are my favorite for travel and I’d give them as gifts but I refuse to shop with them any longer as they changed their shipping policy and now require a $300 + order for free shipping. Terrible business decision and a lot of customers are not happy!
I love my HoloHolo bag and pouches from Aloha. Great for the beach at resorts and packing wet items both there and on the way home. I had not heard about the shipping. I’m in Canada so I have purchased from a Cdn retailer as the international shipping was always a steep cost. I too have purchased items for gifts.
Question don’t we need a converters to use our American equipment in another country due to American equipment being 110 volts and other countries be 220 volt??? I don’t want to burn up my electronics.
These days the most common items we would travel with that need a converter are hair dryers and curling or straightening irons, but you can get many of these in dual voltage. Honestly, I have not packed a hair dryer for many years because almost every where I travel provides one in the room or Airbnb. Here is a bit more of an explanation of the difference between converters and adapters: "Many countries operate on voltages different from the US standard of 120 volts. For instance, most of Europe utilizes 220 - 240 volts. This discrepancy can pose a risk to your devices, especially for devices like hair dryers, curling irons and shavers if not properly addressed. @@GenxGypsy1968 a converter steps the electric coming from the wall socket that would be 220 or 240 to 110 / 120 you plug a hair dryer into. Where as a adapter is the type of plug configuration that you plug into the wall socket. Sorry it is so confusing I believe they come as one unit that is both a converter that steps the electrical down or up and a adapter that has the different plug ins to the different types of wall sockets. That is either one thing with both or two separate things???

Happy Holidays thank you for your wonderful travel information! 🥰
Your trip sounds absolutely amazing!❤
Have used that brand of adapter for years! The best…
Love all of your picks!
Ditto on the tray table cover! I bought it then thought it was silly and regretted it. Until I used it! Never flying without it again.
I love the tray cover and have used it on long haul flights ❤
I love listening to books when I travel (or anytime). Do you have any book suggestions for a trip to Ireland?
You might enjoy “Remarkably Bright Creatures” or “The Thursday Murder Club”
I am going to Ireland in about 10 days. Thanks for the book rec

Our phones, laptops, etc do not need converters. Only adapters. I’ve traveled in the UK and Europe. They only pull in the power they need.
Most newer electronics are dual voltages like phones, computers so you just need adapters.. You should check if they do like hair straightener, etc.
