ok... where's Burkina Faso??? and it looks like the #2 engine's exhaust had a fire at some point... i understand from winds and stuff that the exhaust darkens around an engine's exhaust, but jeez. Annnnd... it looks like the Burkina Faso lettering is faded, or was it done that way? Cool vid though!
That #2 exhaust soot is because the engine probably did not have the "burner can" modification which reduces exhaust (most JT8D engine got it in the late 60's or 70's, although there were some still floating around in Africa in the 90's and 2000s's that did not have it. That is not from a fire. Most rears of 727s in the mid to late 60s looked like this.
Nice clean spool up with left outboard engine followed by center and right engine. -7s have a unique whistle.

i've seen many rare aircraft while spotting. but not like this!! indeed very rare even when it was flying.
