  • This video shows what I found to upgrade my oem main fuel pump on my 1978 Volvo 244. The original fuel pump has a 90 degree angle in it. The new pump is straight. I found what is called a banjo valve that makes the 90 degree turn. Connect new Fuel Pump to Fuel accumulator. Looking good!
    oct 2021!! I mentioned that I would normally swap the fuel accumulator out.... well, it failed last week. pump still works great. Purchased new accumulator/ Bosch

      The pump in the video was supposedly the correct unit for replacement on the 244. I'm not sure on the 264.

      My 264 has a B21F engine in it, so it's technically a 244. I used the 1976 244 accumulator www.partsgeek.com/ss/?i=1&ssq=0438170001+Bosch&x=12&y=7 (0438170001 Bosch)
      and used the 1976 264 fuel pump www.partsgeek.com/ss/?i=1&ssq=E2315+Airtex&x=0&y=0 (E2315 Airtex)

    What is the work pressure of that new pump? Or the old one, it should be the same

    • @mdhoore
      @mdhoore  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      94,3 psi

      @@mdhoore Both pumps work at 94,3 psi? Your old pump reference is 0580254996?

      @@TheAlju19 the new one works great. Model number is in the description. I did not look up psi on the old unit. There is plenty of documentation on bosch fuel pumps for classic Volvos.
