- Day 1 of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's two day Avalokiteshvara Empowerment given at his residence in Dharamsala, HP, India on May 29, 2020. The first day is the preliminaries to the empowerment, the second day is the actual empowerment.

I am enormously grateful to have the opportunity to once again attend His Holiness's teachings or empowerments in real time. I have attended His teachings since the '80ies and now that he is and elder and there is this pandemic, this exceptional opportunity is still available. Thank you your Holiness for your tireless efforts to bring these teachings to the world. Thank you to all of the translators, technical crew and monks who serve His Holiness for making this live streaming opportunity available to the world.
Om Mani Pad Me Hum
I had a lucid dream this morning.
A hungry puppy had entered my house through a slightly ajar door. You could see his bones through his skin. In my dream, I noticed his hunger and decided to feed him. But what I said to him was, " you shouldnt be here". There was a resistance to his presence inside my "house".
Couple of hours later this video came onto my screen.
May Avalokiteshwara remove this resistance!
May I be of service!
I once got the chance to get blessing's from his holiness, I was but a child and now I am here again getting his blessings and finally I understand how wise and compassionate his holiness is 📿
His holiness is a precious jewel for mankind 🙏🏻❤️

I honor you, His Holiness, in deepest gratitude, I sincerely receive these Bodhisattva vows, preliminary initiatory vows this day to serve all sentient beings. I practice emptiness, Today I will prepare to receive a dream and Initiation tomorrow.

Just like space and the great elements such as earth, may I always support the lives of all of the boundless creatures.
And until they pass away from pain, may I also be the source of life for all of the realms of various beings that reach unto the ends of space. ☸

43:50 when translation stopped temporarily, probably due to the complexity and deepness of the topic, i realized i dont have enough karma to hear this teaching in entirety yet.. how i wish i could understand HH words directly
Listening to (or watching) his earlier teachings online will help you gloss over some of these sorts of difficult points. Thubten Jinpa's translations are quite consistent, and (like any public speaker) HHDL frequently repeats himself from one speaking engagement to the next - though there's no denying, either, that sometimes he launches so quickly into highly technical philosophical language that it's practically impossible for anyone not fluent in Tibetan to follow him at all.
All I guess I'm really saying here is don't let it chew you up inside about your karma, and don't let yourself get stopped by the mere speed bump of a single passage you don't hear. It'll come around again. :)

To think we live in an age where you can hear this from anywhere
Isn't it wonderful!? Our lifetimes have been so lucky! We went to such effort to get to India when we were young. Conditions were very difficult. Some of us lost our lives for this dharma, and many of us got very sick seeking it under those conditions. Now its available to everyone everywhere without any danger from bandits or illness! Its really amazing. I can only thank His Holiness again and again for taking a chance on us, directing great lamas to teach us, when we were just out of college and still inexperienced in so many things.

I went back several times to listen from the beginning, but couldn't hear any clarification of which form was being given? I assume it's 1000 Arms?? or is this the 2-Arms Standing Chenrezig for Jomo Wati Sangpo?

Taking what has not been given;
Sexual misconduct;
Telling lies;
Drinking alcohol.
Of course moderation is key in some things like alcohol, an occasional drink is fine but don't get drunk because it's bad for your brain
