Hey guys, I was looking to purchase this to cut plastic / Perspex letters. Will the system be strong enough to cut through 5mm plastic? I wanted to create a number of different font style plastic letters. What software do you think would be best for this?
It should work for dark colored plastic. Although large designs will be slow to cut. Look at hobbylasercutters.com for the technical review of this machine. You will get an idea of its cutting performance
I've built a laser engraver my self (arduino uno powered with DRV8825) and it's 990mm x 990mm of engraving area with an s9 laser. Never have used the complete engraving area and I'm thinking I need to reduce it's size because it ocuppies way to much space when not in use and it's a pain in the a** to move it.

Now to upgrade to the s10 laser module with air assist and redo. I have an s9 and really want to move to the s10 laser module.
I am playing with the S10 right now, it is a great machine, engravings come out much more black. Will post a review video soon.

Most of the time you don't need a machine that big, but when you do, then it pays up for all the hassle :)
Make the machine the size of the stock you most use :)

Yes, but if you take some time and effort you can align again and start where you left off. It will have a small glitch if you don't do it properly
