Oh damn, this reminded me, i promised to make a proper trireme for you a long time ago, but never got past the blockout phase... Glad you found a way to make it work anyway.
I'd really appreciate it, if you would take this scene (or a similar one) and actually make water simulations as realistic as it's possible within Blender and release it as a tutorial. While yes you can use Houdini or other tools, they usually costs a ton of money and/or come with a stupid learning curve. Knowing how to do something like it in Blender would therefore be really nice!
Amazing content Sir Martin.. Always love watching these breakdowns and how you work around common problems. Wanted to ask did you try using the Wave Deform modifier for the interaction between the paddles and the water using vertex paints ? Would've gotten some cool results without being simulated. Was it something super heavy given the huge resolution of the ocean plane or did you face any other issues in that perhaps ?
Welcome, I am from Tunisia and I have always been among your followers in the Blender program. I want you to help me achieve my dream of owning a computer. It does not matter if it is new or used. What is important is that it has the necessary features to start making drawings and videos on the Blender program. I own a computer. I have weak capabilities and I do not have the money to buy a powerful computer due to the weak purchasing power and the high prices of computers in our country. Please try to provide me with a computer and not money. Thank you.
This is a really nice video, with a great result. It also reminded me of this video posted 10 years ago: th-cam.com/video/mOpN6C3ZrjY/w-d-xo.html This used the warped geometry with footage of outflows from a dam technique, in the film 'Anonymous' - impressive.
I can't just scroll pass your videos... I gotta watch! 💪🏿
🥳
