    Parents who favor their kid over another is totally unacceptable. And it serves those parents for how they treated their son poorly and always cared more for his brother. I would support and be there for that boy whenever he needs someone or anyone to talk to.

      This is the reason why favoritism leads to bad judgment they spoil one child and he grew up through a rotten adult. Also getting a rotten attitude over other people it's no wonder all three of them don't have any friends or family willing to help them out.

    • @Zurround
      @Zurround 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I am so aware of the problem of favoritism that I make conscious efforts to AVOID IT and go in the other direction. I am not a parent myself but I have a neighbor/friend who trusts me enough to sometimes take her children on outings, usually to a local park but sometimes I take them to an amusement park or museum.
      Anyway, I have more affection for the daughter Savanna than the older brother Ethan. But I am AWARE of these feelings so I make a conscious effort to favor Ethan at times to balance that out so that the "favoritism" is not detected. for example I took them all to a trampoline park as a special treat and the kids all wanted me to give them some quarters to put into a fun machine where one might win a toy prize. I was short on money at that moment so I gave ETHAN the quarters and Savanna got upset and said that she asked first but I told her that Ethan would have first choice because he had missed out on some earlier trips and this was a way of evening things out a little.
      When I feel more affection or closeness to one child I make mental note of that and then counterbalance by making sure that at times the OTHER child feels accepted and acknowledged. The parents in this story did NOT do that AT ALL.

      Yes the worst thing you can do is show favoritism to one child over another. My parents did this and its not like I hated them I was just disgusted with them. I did not hold it against my nephew but I was also disgusted with my sister and her husband also. So when the time came and they needed me I was not there for them and when they died it was as if a far lesser relative died. They only had two other grandchildren, my children, who they spent no time with. So when their grandparents died it made no impression on them at all. They just went to the funeral thats all. When you play favorites with your childeren it comes back to haunt you.

    • @Zurround
      @Zurround 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I posted above that a parent who "plays favorites" like in this video does not love EITHER of their children. I used a car owner as an analogy. Obviously a higher quality car will get more care from the car owner than a lower quality car but he does not love either car since they are just objects for his use. The better car just gets more care because its more VALUABLE to him.
      Because they were just USING the smarter son for status and prestige and bragging rights he was a TOOL to them and I think on some level he knew that they did not really love him which was part of why he also broke off all ties with them.

    Both brothers are geniuses but one of them came out better than the other. the older brother managed to find friends and have a true family of his own while the younger brother was practically spoiled throughout his whole life and never had the time to socialize with people his own age no thanks to his selfish parents. maybe if he had the chance to make friends he would have been a better person but that's the parents fault on that.

    But I know full well that she OWES me nothing, at all.s She GIVES to me, because she LOVES me, BECAUSE I LOVED HER, FIRST.
    That's how it is supposed to work in families. The older generation LOVES the younger generation, and helps them, as much as they can. Then, when the older generation is too old, and needs help, and the younger generation is adult, and capable, they WANT to help the older ones, in love and gratitude. Nothing OWED, but just LOVE.

    You have to give to others, even those you don't think are "worthy enough," if you want to have things given back to you. Sure, you can beat or extort or pressure what you need out of others, but the moment they find a way to escape those imposed obligations, they will. The bad feelings you create in others will come back to harm you. And yet the people who think this way mock the ones who are kind and generous...and then expect to walk all over those types. We're not doormats. We're not going to let you walk on us. We will help those who have been willing to help others. So either you learn the value of respecting & helping all others, or you can rot in your own garbage for the rest of your life, physical or mental. Those who refuse to pay the social contract (caring for others) will be refused payment when they need it most themselves.

    I like how their genius son realises that his parents were toxic towards his brother in the end, and when he was told by his parents that what they did, was all for him. To which in the end, he realised that the toxic parents who spoiled him were in his way, and told them to make themselves useful and get out of his life and also to point one thing out as well that he is not made out of money.

    Favoritism and comparing two children is a fatal blow to a child and they will feel hurt. At the same time they will be angry on the parents that neglect him or her.

OH SHE CAN'T, NO MONEY, IN DEBT, HA!!!!🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 That's what the parents get for choosing their younger genius son over their older one. Favoritism destroys families..

But they teach how to be that and result the kid have nothing humanity only a robot with no feelings and he follow what the thinks on his head. If I becomes parents someday I want to teach humanity and make them behave
