Even then, Yuya's self-consciousness is easily understandable, and I don't blame him. That said, his Complete Heterochromia isn't as big a deal as long as his eyesight is healthy, right?
Now, with that being said, I have yet to hear of someone having one eye that was a normal color and another eye that was formed as a result of albinism, let alone any creature that can have traits of albinism and heterochromia in its DNA.
Did some research when the comment got me hooked about albinism being the cause of the red eye in the story, apparently according to The National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation, "an eye affected by albinism can cause the blood vessels at the back of the eye to be seen, which can cause the eye to look reddish or violet, with the actual color of the eye often still being blue, hazel or brown". idk if it's accurate but since it's from a source that focuses on that stuff I'd say it's reliable :p
He deserved everything especially cause he thought he was this perfect person and that he was never wrong. People like that won’t learn till they fail hard. Though in his case he made something up at first to help him deal mentally with the fact that even he could have bad things happen.
In cause you're curious, the symptom is called "heterochromia" where one eye is a different colour from the other.
Ngl, if I see people with "heterochromia", I would absolutely be amazed.

heterochromia can also be having 2 colors in both eyes! There's 3 types, one where you have the center a different color than the outside, one where you have 2 color on an eye by half and half, and complete where one eye is a color while the other eye is another.

Wow... I haven't seen any of those eye colors except Dark Brown, Brown and Blue. Not to mention, heterochromia is quite uncommon.

This one was different. It's a good story about learning to accept your minor flaws and karma for the people who bully others, but I couldn't help but think that all of it could have been avoided if the boy just wore colored contacts. They can be made with no prescription and opaque enough to have turned my 1st wife's dark brown eyes into a lighter blue color. Plus.... binocular vision ! Bonus !!!.The only real draw back is they look flat up close as they're just printed plastic. They're not even expensive. This would've been a far better solution for someone who didn't want to stand out. An eyepatch.... really? 🤔🙄😬
I actually use colored contacts for cosplay and many people think the color of the contacts are my natural eye color no matter what color it is (so far at least) however I use prescription colored contacts.

Extra theory : Rikuto who couldn’t stand being isolated decides that enough is enough, afterwards he became a shut in due to the isolation taking a toll on him. Then when rikuto grows up he would find a job but however when he harassed too many employees he was fired and evicted from his home while he also became a girl’s enemy too. Rikuto tried to confront Yuya when he saw him but he bumps into a reincarnated Roy Scheider and Gene Hackman, They both saw rikuto’s red eyes and afraid that something could happen, they beat him up and ran away from him. Now rikuto is homeless with no Allies to support him.

Another normal but rare is mutant system as my eyes as green but I was blue when I was born which meant my eyes' turned into green when I age up.
