Had no idea you can catch red grouper inside the bay.
Oh yeah. We only catch a couple of keepers a year but a ton of s 19” fish lol

Yep mainly we use 10# now.

Thanks for the info on the jigs. I fish water about the same depths (40' to 50'). What is the all around best size that that depth? Also can you tell me that spinning reel & rod set-up that you use?
I am using an Ohero Hyper Inshore 5000 reel and MH 7' Ohero Hyper Inshore Rod. I like between 3/4 and 1oz in that depth.
I guess I'm going to at some point buy a side scan set up, using a old lowrance dsi 5 elite and have yet to figure it out, thanks for the info and great videos.
If you are going to be doing a lot of grouper and snapper fishing I highly recommend it, if not then I would not do it.

I watch all your video. I just have a question. Its call the Tampa Bay fishing channel I guest you live in Tampa. Reason I ask is because I'm looking to move to Florida but don't know where yet. I own a 25 ft Chawk Boat. So I would love to catch all those different species like you guys.

Another great video! Thank you, Todd. I have one of those dehooking tools, and I found it helpful to attach a float to keep from losing it overboard. Quick question, what would you say is the percentage of gag and red grouper, that you catch, that would be keepable if we were in grouper season?
It depends on the day actually. Some days I would say 40% and other days I would say 10%. It also depends if we have the right kind of bait for the big boys too. I would say we would catch a lot more big fish if we just concentrated on getting bigger baits.

Ok brother, I see you have alot of break offs, I know you running 20lbs test... try step it up to 30lbs test... clean all your leader line with alcohol.... try it and let me know... that's what I do
@@capt.brucebarron740 hi Bruce, trust me we have bumped up our leader to 30 and 40 but we just find that the bite is not the same. Sometimes it does not matter but most of the time it does. We have found that yes we will get more breakoffs but we will get a ton more bites.
Ok, I love the show, always awesome watching you and Chad put in work... just thought I'd share the cleaning the heavier leader line with alcohol. Makes the line a little more translucent. Awesome show
