Ulfric Stormcloak should we be giving Kevin Parker all the credit? I’m asking frankly. I would imagine the sound from tame impala is a collaborative effort and not JUST Kevin. However, the band would lose its identity without his beautiful voice. What an amazing transition they’ve made from grunge to new wave. All without losing their soul. Something I think bands like Coldplay and muse had a tough time figuring out.
He is the strongest independent artist out there I’d say, he doesn’t necessarily have to but in today’s music business he certainly has the potential to be the hottest biggest thing in the mainstream and on the charts, people might not agree but I’d say this performance solidifies that potential
Somehow he overcame the usual horrible SNL mix. He must have his own sound engineer mixing this. SNL usually has a very conservative compressed automated gain sharing flat mix that destroys the sound of most of their performers.
It sounds happy, but it's actually a sad song. As a girl approaching her 30s with no direction in life yet seeing my friends finish school, starting careers, getting married, and having kids, these lyrics were hitting me pretty hard. It felt like life was leaving me behind. Made me rethink what I'm doing with my life so much that I'm planning to put my two weeks notice in today at my dead end job, and pursue my passion in something artistic and creative.
... And now? I'll say, this song reminds me that I once used to tell whoever that I enjoyed writing. Still haven't completed my first book - except that I basically need to edit the audio version of my first project, and then it's a matter of publishing that, and the second book is just a matter of recording and editing as well... last time I did anything with that stuff was May or June of '21... I could've done that several times over. This song hits me with both "...time waits for no one" and "time takes from everyone." Hope things are looking up seeing that you pursued your passion.

I really dont get why patience is not on the album..i mean the sounds and themes fit very well thank you very much and it would make the record even stronger
I think its because the single was towards the fans telling them to be patient and how 'Patience' answers to why he hadnt released the album yet. He kind of says he isnt ready yet
After all these two months i can say that the slow rush as an album is really a weak point in his career... the album is not that good like the ones before and it has nothing to do with changing styles and more about how the song will impact the audience... this new album is too much personal and the choice of rythm and dancing style will not make the audience feel the same conection with larger then life trippy emotions(like the more pop albums of flaming lips do) that the songs used to have...(sorry my poor english)
