    Hey internet! Today we're here for a sound design tutorial by request of Moky Larry in UVI Falcon 2!
    In this video, we'll be exploring sound design techniques for creating bells, keys, plucks, and other similar sounds using UVI Falcon 2 - however, none of these techniques are exclusive to UVI Falcon so you can certainly follow along using Serum, PhasePlant or another comparable synth/sampler.
    Keys, plucks, and bells are all pretty similar so this video will focus a bit more on the theory and overview of these types of sounds as well as some of my techniques for approaching designing them rather than just copy/paste settings as you might find elsewhere. So, hopefully you find this tutorial and these techniques for sound design useful to create your own unique sounds for trap/ambient/future garage/whatever you need these sounds for!
    Stay classy!

      Falcon 2 is normally on sale 3 times per year and you get a £100 voucher free from them for expansions or anything else on the site you want, black friday or Christmas time is normally best, but they may have an offer with the self isolation stuff, but I've not checked yet

      Glad to hear it! I try to make sure the tutorials that I do are as synth/DAW agnostic as I can so that everyone is able to learn and follow along with their favorite stuff.

    Really dig your Falcon vids - in large part they convinced me to purchase it . Thank you for continuing to post quality content.
    Got to give a hat tip for the video and especially audio quality of your posts (it kind of stuns me how many content creators in the audio/music space have **terrible** audio...)

      Awesome, glad to hear you've enjoyed them! And no problem haha, it's what I do.
      I feel your pain with the audio stuff though - sometimes I find tutorials or reviews that make me want to rip my ears off haha.

    Thanks, there isn’t much out there on Falcon. If you could show how this could be useful for zany Bass House and Future House sound design (Tchami, Donkong, Ibranovski style stuff), that would be awesome. I keep hearing that this synth is really deep but haven’t heard anything that I could actually use for my purposes.

    Following along very precisely... when I add a sample to the oscillator, the pitch envelope ratio goes away ( where it says keygroup pitch env [ahd] ) and I can no longer control that parameter.

    1.) UVI Falcon (For the Win)
    2.) Steinberg HALion 6 (Very Nice Sampler)
    3.) HISE (Open Source Sampler, very similar to Falcon / HALion 6 ...Depending on OS Platform, can be very buggy)
    4.) Hexeract (more of a badly programed Rompler)

    Very interesting video, thank you. I have a couple of questions though: are there multipoint envelopes in Falcon? and is it possible to do to from one oscillator to the other in Falcon?

  • @ottam

    Would Falcon 2 be worth the cash and learning curve if I have:
    Dune 3, The Legend, Diva, Repro, Pigments, Arturia V6, Poly KBIII, Lush, Massive, Iris 2, Tal-U-no, Tal Sampler? I try to make hip-hop that sounds sampled.
    Cheers

    Venus Theory! What happened to the "sound design for trap producers" video? U were designing in phaseplant and made a really cool bell that I could follow along with very easily in my europa synth. This falcon is tough to follow for me. Also can you make more reason tutorials? Love your channel aside from the missing video im looking for.lol

    Hmmm...So if I use your music box sample and blending it in, I can't use it in a song thats going to be released?

    • @VenusTheory
      @VenusTheory  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yo! Good question - so what I mean here is that you can't use my samples to make samples that you sell. However, you can use the samples in your commercial releases of music. That goes for any sample company really - you can't sell their samples as your own or sell modified versions of them, but you can use them in your music as that's what the license is for.

    thanks for your excellent content, that really help me to get closer to my goal ! Have you tried Msoundfactory ? I did not know which one to choose since they are pretty similar even if for now falcon 2 has more feature. but the fact that we could not try falcon prevented me to choose ! So for now I'm sticking to msoundfactory but I wanted to have you thought on this subject. Once again thanks for everything.

      I've considered doing some V Collection synth tutorials! However, I haven't really found a good format or reason to do them really. If I find there's enough interest though it's definitely something I could do!

    • @prtysh
      @prtysh 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VenusTheory Thanks for the reply. The synths in V collection, I feel, sound unique. Compared to something like Falcon, where one can do literally anything, these synths seem to have specific aspects that they do well and sound great doing them. Some of them are rather odd. Like Falcon though, there's very limited resources out there for v collection synths. I hope you do tutorials for some of them at some point of time, specially for the Easel.
