    One of the most amazing MNF games of all time.

      I agree with that. I think the 2000 season gave us the best season of MNF. We got Rams vs Bucs, HE DID WHAT??? and The Jets comeback vs Miami all in 2000. But this game was right up there with the best MNF games of all time

    Growing up in NC, as an 8th Grader, this game (and the Colts next game against the Panthers, as well as the Chiefs/Packers game), solidified my fandom of the NFL. These are the reasons why the 2003 NFL season will always have a special place in my heart, as it was the first season that I followed the sport on a consistent basis.

    Tony Dungy's homecoming game. Dungy returns to TB as a Colts HC for the first time since 2001.
    Sweet revenge for him.

    Fun fact: Not only was this Peyton Manning’s first and last game in Tampa, he was also undefeated in his career against the Buccaneers.

    You've heard of the Music City Miracle, right? This is the first Circle City Miracle lol; the others being the 2006 AFC Championship game..Colts/Patriots, and Colts/Chiefs when the Colts won 45-44

    On the scorebug ticker, note the Red Sox/A's ALDS Game 5.
    Between that and the Peyton MNF all-timer of a comeback, this was a memorable Monday sports viewing night.

    I remember this game like it was yesterday. I had a big exam in my history class my junior year in college so I went to bed with 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter seeing that the Bucs could not lose this game with that big lead....oh how I was wrong. I wonder how much you would have won if you put $20 on the Colts when they were down 35-14 with 4 minutes to go, that would have been a very good bet to have made.

    Ive been watching the NFL since 2000. This is the first and only time Ive ever heard the Leaping call. Im actually surprised with player safety being more of a factor that leaping isn't called more often

      @@AmirKhan-yv8jm that kickoff return was the momentum changer. A lot went right for the Colts, but they made virtually all of it happen and didn’t really get lucky outside of recovering the onside kick after the initial score

    The most ridiculous comeback I've ever seen in the NFL. Three touchdowns in three minutes to force overtime. Ansolutely insane.
    And frankly this game changed the course of both franchises for years to come.

    • @KMC5240

      Yeah the refs blew the call. What Rice did happens on basically every FG or PAT block attempt. I remember Al Michaels specifically saying "What is that? What kind of a call is that?".

    • @AmirKhan-yv8jm
      @AmirKhan-yv8jm 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It shouldn’t have come down to that, the defending champs should not have blown that big lead!

    • @xekis
      @xekis 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KMC5240 Also Al Michaels before the next attempt:
      "Again, just to parse the rule even farther, it says if you line up more than a yard behind the line of scrimmage, which he did, leap and contact a body on the way down in an attempt to block a field goal that's leaping. That's unsportsmanlike conduct."
      The refs didn't blow the call. Maybe it's a stupid rule, but they called it by the books.

    Indy last year won on the road at Denver in a snowstorm, blew out Philly at the Vet. Both impressive.
    But THIS is not just a great road win- this is an all-timer of a MNF win.
    They and Kansas City at this point are the AFC's two best teams so far.
    Next week may be a battle of unbeatens, but Carolina is a much less impressive unbeaten in comparison.

    This was an unbelievable comeback. But the successful onside kick shouldn't have counted. The kick didn't bounce; it popped straight up, so the Bucs legally should've had an opportunity to fair catch it.

    • @Jeremy_theGent
      @Jeremy_theGent 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know the NFL admitted after that there should have been a penalty on the Colts. Maybe the refs just didn't remember that it applied in that situation or something, since onside kicks typically are bounced along the turf.
