I think all of the sounds in the game (getting seen, chase music, main menu music) in Outlast Trials are heavily underrated. They add an amazing addition to the game
super random thing but, i actually contacted red barrells for animation advice cos i was curious how they handled the first person camera ( i was just beginning to learn gam dev) and i got a reply, from one of the lead animators, gave me loads of advice, and resources. i thought it was really cool :)
@@johnsu1188 there character model and they used a camera in place of the characters head. and for things like, dropping down or something, they moved the camera up and down to create certain effects ( make a fall seem more than it is etc, IIRC..the email was a long time ago). now, it seems like quite an straightforward way to do it as ive delved into unreal engine more, but it was still awesome to get a reply :) the dude also linked me to a series of animation books ( really expensive so i cudnt get them, and i cant remember the name)
This is what I want to see! The people who make these games, love games. The amount of excitement and anxiety they went through hoping that their game will be accepted by their players. There are the kinds of people that we need in the game industry. I have the biggest respect towards this team and I wish them the very best in every project they work on!

The Outlast Trials was the first ever game I streamed on my channel. The sheer amount it sucks you in was a really bad choice when trying to also get to grips with OBS! And I loved every single second of it. Thankyou Red Barrels!
Dear RedBarrels, I am a huge, huuuuge fan of the Outlast series. They are my fav horror games of all time. I don't hate the Outlast trials, I like it. But I think it was for the better to keep story mode intact and keep the solo gameplay. But, it was fun playing with friends and get scared together. I hope you develop a story mode in the future. Keep your work and I always root for you guys.
You guys always complain it has no micro transactions and co op is so fun, wait pal you will get a separate Outlast solo game let this be here it’s so fun
Outlast isn't for me, but it's still fascinating to see the development process behind this sort of game, where it's all about being immediate and visceral. Especially the mocap process is always good to get BTS scenes of.
This was such a fun watch. Getting to see how things are made and what all the devs go through is always so interesting... And Red Barrels pulled it off! I love this franchise so much and just like the other two, Trials is one of the most fun games I've ever played!

Most of the players I speak to say they don't just get on the game for a few minutes, but for hooouuurs of game play when they log on. I feel like I speak for a lot of us when i say we really love this game, and can't wait to see what else you guys have in store for us. Also, I missed a lot of the promotions you guys had for the game, but was told about it by another player. Word of mouth is how many of us learned of the game. Don't stop doing what you're doing, Red Barrels. Thanks for the many many many hours of game play!

A few of us have been going through the game, the latest Halloween update has been amazing. The AI feels way more scary, homies keep cutting you off, playing it smart and overall just being a really annoyingly terrifying enemy roster. Great job! For an early access game with just four levels, I have gathered over 50 hours of playtime and haven't even finished everything the game has to offer.
This is so cool to see, and it's wild to realize how challenging of a journey it was to pioneer something new like that, but damn does the quality of the game prove it was all worth it. I can't wait to see where the final version ends up, as you can tell they really, really care about their players and want to make something special. I'll always be an Outlast/Red Barrels fan

The lady that said “a solo campaign isn’t a good idea” is way wrong. I don’t play the multiplayer. I only play solo. But this game is great. I feel so bad, even with the success they’ve had, they were still forced to hold back and possibly lose the whole studio.
This is the best horror game imo I love the multiplayer aspect and the enemies as well as the settings it’s stress inducing in a cool way I hope this game stays for a couple more years
