- I hate to throw an item away until I have tried to repair it, or at least investigated the problem. These JBL 500BT bluetooth headphones were cutting out on the left side, and it turns out the pressure from the spring contacts was enough to dislodge the small circuit board. It was not clipping into place very firmly. I'm not sure if this is a common problem or not, but the fix was simply to glue the board in place. I used a spritz of accelerator and my favourite cyanoacrylate, Loctite 480, but any super glue would work.

Mine keeps shutting themselves off after about 30 seconds of being turned on. What do you think it is?
@@metalreactswithgrandmajean8395 they need to be charged or the bluetooth is off. You can try turning it on and off again.
@@shubikl9826 I've done both. They connect n my music plays for a few seconds and then it shuts off. Do you think they need to be reset?
@@metalreactswithgrandmajean8395 i don't know, it happens to me sometimes and reconnecting the bluetooth solves it. You will need someone to check inside if there's a misconnection maybe :/

Finally! I opened mine, pulled on the springs ever so lightly and reassembled. Working again, thanks so much!

Thank you very much for this video mate. I have the Tune500bt, almost the same model but with longer battery life and some other feature I think but same appearance. A nephew of mine dropped them 2 nights ago and they completely stopped on the right side for me unfortunately. I was reading through the comments and found someone who had the issue and followed his suggestions about the springs not touching the pads etc. I stretched them out and now it works normal again. Thanks for the video, I will even leave a like on my way.

So glad I looked for an answer on my left speaker not working. I disassembled it and saw that the board was intact. So I looked overall and all seemed good. Last thing I did was spray contact cleaner on the board. After reassembling. I powered on and heard both speakers 🔊 Thank you for having this available. You made my day. Now I can listen totally. And listen to these bad boys when I mow my yard!!👍💛💙
Yay! Thanks a lot for showing how to properly open and close these. Got both sides of the phone working again! Opened, stretched the springs, as someone suggested in the comments, and closed - and it was fixed. (The circuit board was firmly in place.)

Cool, I only cleaned those contact where the springs touch with some isopropanol and now it works again (I didn't see any dirt or anything but somehow it worked). Thanks also for showing how to put the ear cushion back on, that was easier than I thought!

Now I think about it, I reckon I might have dropped mine a day or two before this as well. The left was cutting in and out when I shook the phones a little. I do a lot of audio tech stuff, but I'm no headphone expert. I just like to encourage people to investigate before throwing stuff out. Amazing how often a broken item has a very simple fix.... @@RobMods I prefer to fix things if possible instead throwing them away at the first failure. I'm glad you did it because I searched on JBL site and there wasn't anything useful to this simple fault. There wasn't anything broken, just misplaced. Keep it up! 🤘

Hi guys my jbl headset are not turning on i tried all the trick but still nothing,3 weeks i drop them by mistakr into a bucket of water ,immediately i took them out dried with a cloth after 30 min i turned them on and they were working fine a days after when i turn them on NOTHING ! Till today,wen i charge them the light goes on when plug on charger but they when i turn them on light doesnt on

Mine has an issue where as soon as you touch them they turn off and will randomly turn back on. Tried to open both sides, everything looks in place, sprayed contact leaner all over electronic parts but still getting this issue. Anyone has the same problem? Thanks
I think I have the same problem, when I turn them in some sort of way they switch of and when I turn them back they turn on again. However I still haven’t found a solution to this but I think it might be a cable that has a cut or something

Had a problem with the right side, it's a bit different there, the board was not moving, but video helped me to understand about that connection (strings and pads... I am not an electrician, sorry). I think strings were short, they didn't touch those pads, so I helped them a little with a force. It works now. Thank you :)
Same problem as well, story short you will helped me skip the troubleshooting and just stretched the springs and it works again. gg mate

Mine work but wont charge after they fell off my head and into a pool a year ago. Somehow I was able to get them to charge up once about 3 months ago and was all excited. But now they wont charge any more. 😅

Now (after dinner) I went to look at possible repair videos. I have seen yours and I wanted to check that it was really the right earpiece that was not working.

when the volume is low on 1 side check if there is litle iron peaces/dirt on the speaker at ear side of the litle speaker ...i had this and only litle volume came out ,now fixed.

I had the same symptom, but turned out the actual speaker was open circuit. Also, I guess I have a newer version of the Tune 500BT because there were no springs; now there are soldered wires. Still, I had a second non-working pair so managed to fix this one by replacing the speaker. And would never have figured out how to open, test speaker resistance, and then replace the pad, without this video. Thanks.

My 500bt sounds very high pitched after i assembled it. I can't fix it. I took it apart, cleaned it, stretched the springs but there is still no bass. Do you know how to fix this?

That's just a squirt of electronics contact cleaner for the spring terminals. Definitely optional...
Hi, I disassembled my t450bt and need to change the black wire (with the 4 wires insinde) that goes through the whole headphones. I'm new at this and don't know which kind of wire to order. Please, can you help me?

Really I'd think any 4-core cable that is flexible and the same outer diameter would work. You could probably also make 3-core shielded cable work by using the braid as the battery negative connection. You could probably re-use an old (4-core) USB cable if it's the right diameter. Good luck with the repair!

I have a pair of Tune 600BTNC's and wired they work fine but with bluetooth the right side doesn't work. Can't find anyone with a similar issue or solution. Anyone else ran into the same?
I have a Momentum 2 that has been great for me but my water bottle leaked in my bag and after about 3-5 months after that it randomly pairs with my phone will it fully stopped pairing. It powers ON and I can use it wired but I miss the wirelss function of it. I believe the bluetooth does not power ON or the part that needs to power on the bluetooth is damaged. Have ever looked ito one or know where I should start?Thanks
