Awesome , I never get tired watching dogs work! Acouple mof decades ago I had a chocolate lab, he was a great grouse hunter. I always gave him the heart& liver right after a retrieve.CheersFrom B.C.Canada.
Having dogs work in close and remain steady to wing and shot are helpful in our high deserts. Hunted birds tend to bust too far out, when the dogs are working too far out. Can be a challenge for flushers. Yeti looked good in the grass, for un-hunted long tails. Just a bit impatient. Thanks for sharing.
Love your videos hey was planning to go west to hunt sharp tails and pheasants and maybe Huns too. Which state u considered for me to hunt. I am from Jersey. Thanks
I've got a ranch in MT I have hunted for a few decades. I'm planning to go back there this fall for the first time in about 4 years. I've got a male gordon setter and two females. I've shot a lot of sharp tail, huns, and pheasant - but I've never pursued the sage. I want to try it this year, and may also make a swing into Wyoming for chukar. We will be camping out on the prairies until we can't stand ourselves anymore. Promoting an upcoming litter. All of which is why I'm watching bird hunting and found your channel. Nicely done! Really enjoyed that. Saw a MN grouse hunt of yours the other night too. Are you using head mounted go-pro's? How about movie/editing software?
Great video bro!! I live in Montana and this video has me stoked!! Last September I got my first ever dog, she’s a wire haired pointing griffon, I can’t wait to get her out this summer and train and hopefully get her on birds this coming fall, super appreciate your videos great quality man!!! Much love
Pheasants are the only upland bird that it is not legal to shoot hens because of their distinctive color difference. Tough to tell the difference of a sage grouse hen vs male on the wing.
Unless we discovered a new strain of Sharptails that are 3x the normal size of regular Sharptails, the birds from 8:53 - 10:10 are absolutely sage grouse…
Very envious. Great hunt! Watching the dogs work and the sportsmanship of the hunters. Wonderful! Great video.

Good video. I've hunted in sage brush before. It's really fragrant. Did you have any trouble with snakes?
Just got back from Montana this week, grouse were great!
Man those dogs love to work! So awesome.
Great video. Looks so much fun!
Thank you! Yes good times for sure 👊
Great video as usual, thanks for sharing looking forward to part 2
Thanks man 👍🏻
The first year with a pup you push on the gas, the second year you put on the brakes. Nothing better than sharpies for training.
Absolutely 👌
Dang! What an experience, well done boys!
Thanks man 👊

Awesome! My dogs and I will be making the trip down to Montana this fall, can't wait!
Thank you, it's an upland hunters dream.
So good man! You make it look easy.
Ah shucks, thanks man. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Wow! What a great couple of days with the Brittany Armada!!
Thanks Dan!

Headed to MT this Sept. near Malta/Saco, what part of MT were you in?
That looks amazing! Might have to add MT to the fall list
If you can do the trip, absolutely! So much opportunity. Thanks for following along man.
When does part 2 come out?? This was a fantastic video and has been excited to hit up Wyoming this year. Great job
In my opinion, sage grouse are the funniest upland bird to hunt just for how large they are

Curious, is it legal to have more than 3 shots on upland in Montana?
Yes, the gun does not need to be plugged for upland birds. Just migratory.
Awesome content guys! I'm going this year and I'm jacked up. Did you guys run into any snakes? My dogs aren't snake broke and it makes me nervous.
Thanks man. No snakes. Good luck out there!
What kind of dogs? I can see one is a Brit, what about the other two?
All of my dogs are brits. 2 livers, 1 orange!
Is Lt possible that the have chick's on the ground?
What kind of vest is your buddy wearing ? It’s like a half strap vest
Its a bird caddy belt and he puts suspenders on it.
Awesome just freaking AWESOME 👌 😎 👏 🙌
Thanks for following along Jeff!
Great stuff. Is this September?
Yes, September.
Damn good dogs. Wow.
What's the license cost for Montana?
$140 all together for a non resident.
How do you avoid shooting a female sage hen like hunters do with pheasants ?
Pheasants are the only upland bird that it is not legal to shoot hens because of their distinctive color difference. Tough to tell the difference of a sage grouse hen vs male on the wing.
I got news for you those aren't sage grouse. They are sharp tail grouse.
Unless we discovered a new strain of Sharptails that are 3x the normal size of regular Sharptails, the birds from 8:53 - 10:10 are absolutely sage grouse…
Don’t shoot them! They are endangered! Hunt sharptails
They are not endangered, and it has been proven time and time again in various studies that hunting has little to no effect on population declines.
👍👍👍👍👋👋
Thank you 👍
Sage Grouse! Why? Big Slow fliers and taste terrible! And low numbers!
Why not? They tasted pretty good in the street tacos we made with them last week.
Very envious. Great hunt! Watching the dogs work and the sportsmanship of the hunters. Wonderful! Great video.
