Greetings OWL. We are underway here with the 2023 season. Still a bit warm so will keep fishing until it cools. Way to many rattlesnakes still out and about. What part of N Arizona? My first job out of college was working on lake Powell as a boating officer for Utah DNR. Spent 5 yrs there before moving back to montana.
Hi John. Thanks for the kind words. I’m putting together a bird video for 2023…. Stay tuned! The really good news is I’m shooting a ton better this year 🙏…. So far…
What a fantastic Dog Peggy is! Well done. I know how you feel. Sometimes it feels like there are blanks in the gun. I hunt upland in Arizona. Last year was a total bust! If it wasn't the weather it was bad shooting or car trouble. Seasons like that make you humble. Believe me.
Amen! We are adding another GSP this august, so I’m super excited for the 2023 season. Heading to AZ has been on our list and hope to get down there soon.
Greetings L Luc. It was a great season last year for sure. Peggy is a ton of fun though she has decided over the last 2 weeks that lying in dead carp is a cool thing! We are adding another GSP this summer so stay tuned!
Greetings. Peggy is a hoot for sure. And her litter was donated to our local animal shelter! We picked a winner for sure! We are very fortunate to have her.
Greetings Bruce. Thanks for the kind words. We couldn’t imagine life without her. She literally makes us laugh every day. Peggy is a phenomenal hunter and class clown all in one!
I grew up hunting Bobwhite's and struggled to be consistent hitting until back in the 90's, I was invited to participate in a skeet tournament. We shot two rounds of skeet, one day per week for nine weeks. In the beginning, I hit 16 out of 25, but by the end of 9 weeks I was hitting 25 out of 25. The key was lead and follow through. It looks as though you are stopping your swing on right to left and left to right passing shots. Shooting skeet is fun, but like you, I like to fish and do other things and shooting skeet just couldn't hold it's allure for me. I sincerely doubt that I would shoot 25 out of 25 if I shot a round of skeet today, but in shooting birds, I pretty much hit the shots that I should hit. Skeet also trains you to keep your head down on the gun, due to the fact that you shoulder your gun before you call for the bird/clay pigeon. Now I swear that sometimes when I do miss, my dogs give me the stink eye. LOL. Great video's, keep up the good work. One question, on average, what date range do rattle snakes become less prevalent?
That's Ok - some days, are just like that. I was thinking of making a trip to MT next Sept but all that snake changes things a bit. As for your shooting, are you using too open of a choke? I had gun problems in my recently released video but it was due to a different issue. You can check it out on my channel and leave a comment.
Greetings HO. Thanks for the tips. I use modified and improved cylinder for my chokes. I’m 99% sure it’s me and not my equipment.. shooting primarily 3 species of birds that all fly at a different speed might contribute to my bad days… but I’m still betting it’s my technique. As far as snakes, if you stay above ( north) the Missouri River, you will typically avoid rattlers. Stay in the NE part of the state and you should be good to go. I personally have never come across a rattler in the NE part of the state. Around Great Falls, that’s a different story!
Hi Jeff. I have to admit that also still makes me laugh. I’m fishing with Bob next week on the Missouri at our cabin… I’m pretty sure the same comment will reappear!
I'm so happy for you, Bro. Northern Arizona here. God bless America ❤

I get the impression that Peggy loves her life with you and no doubt feels very lucky to be your companion.

Looks like you’re behind on those shots…good action!
I agree…
Does she fish? Looks like Peggy does everything!
Greetings. Yes! I’m trying to teach how to shovel snow and mow the lawn…
