I like that in grouse hunting there’s really no wrong or right way to do it. You can road hunt, walk trails, run dogs, ride wheelers, or even I know some hardcore guys that prefer off trail walking just beating the bush to kick up grouse way out far from established trails. There’s something for everyone in grouse hunting. I personally do a mix of all methods, I road hunt in a truck or atv to get to the deep far out and over grown trails and I walk those, and I will go off trail to chase grouse or if the area looks “grousey” enough I might walk a bit off trail. In Minnesota I see more atv hunters and dog runners than anything else but road hunting from a truck is quite common as well.
I hunt "partridge, " as we call them in Maine, with my two Brittany's. Best breed for this type of hunting and wonderful companions and family pets. Thanks for the videos, they're great.
What breeder did you get your britts from? I’m a fellow Michigander and I hunt in the same general vicinity as you. Looking to expand my pack and I’m thoroughly considering a Brittany
Do you guys typically just run the bells and how do you like them overall? I have a Brittany that's just starting to get the nose for grouse and was thinking about getting a bell.
I do run the bell most of the time in the grouse woods - not all the time, but usually have it on. It tells a nice story of how the dog is working a bird. The bell just becomes part of the equation on how the dog handles the bird.
Hey Michael - welcome and thanks for following along! I did do one grouse cooking video, probably not something were going to do a whole lot of. You can see the video here >> th-cam.com/video/NvQbSPJKuEc/w-d-xo.html We normally just substitute grouse in our favorite recipes.
OMG a new hunting video in June?! The only good thing about summer is that ends and thus starts grouse season.
I figured we could all use a little something to help pass some hot summer days!
Where in Maine did you Hunt? I live in Maine and hunt all over the state when i have time. Great dog work! I have a French Brittany

This is the exact video I needed today.
Big fan of the narrated footage! As a newer hunter this is teaching me a lot about grouse.
Thanks for following along Adam! Glad you're enjoying the videos, good luck this season 👊🏻
Hot and humid here in Bayfield Wi. , a little over 2 months and it will be grouse season again! Thanks for posting a video to scratch the itch.

Thanks for the videos, they're great.
You know I cant argue that! Thanks for following along James, and good luck this coming season!
''Patridge" may be an English translation of the french word: "perdrix" ? There was used to being French-Canadians in Maine.
Where can I get a nice Brittany?
Your videos are the best. What model Go Pro do you use? Thanks
Nice video. Good dog work.
I'm looking for a Brittany for grouse and woodcock hunting. Do you have any recommendations?
Awesome video !!!! Keep them coming !!!
Thanks for following along mike! More coming soon, its about to bust wide open here in a few weeks. Good luck this season!
What chokes you using on that stoeger? Cut the tree down and still got the bird.
IC in the first barrel, MOD in the second.
Very fine footage of hunting in dense wood and snow is rare on TH-cam.
Thank you!
can I ask what you're shooting for guns? and chokes?
LOL!
"Damn it! (Dog's name) come!"
Man if I had a dollar for every time I've said that over the years......
Nice video! Can’t wait for fall 🍁
Amen to that! Days are officially getting shorter now 👍
Great video my friend
Thank you!

Uplander what size ammo you are using for grouse hunting ? Nice video 👍
Thank you! In early season I use a smaller shot size, 7.5s Once the leaves fall down I switch to 6's. 12 Gauge and 20 Gauge.
Great video. I hunt northern MN.
I’m new to the channel.
I’m wondering if you ever add grouse cooking or recipes to the video?

Great video! Nice dog work and beautiful birds! What side by do you run? Is it a single or double trigger?
Thanks man. Double trigger, Stoeger Uplander.
@@UplanderLifestyle Beautiful! Will check them out!
Phenomenal.
Outstanding
Thanks David 👍
What breed is yeti?
Yeti is a Brittany 👍🏻
Guys...those dogs need work! A semi for upland hunting...really? That's like going to a wedding in waders. Thanks for sharing.
Good thing I don’t have any weddings to go to 😜 I’m good with the dog work and gun
Grouse Hunting= Shooting at where they was instead of where they is. Fine dog work by the way. Ain't their first rodeo.
This is grouse hunting done properly. Shooting a bird standing on the road may be legal but it’s unethical
Thanks Cheryl!
