- Have an issue grabbing various shape parts in your bench vise? Here is the solution - a fractal vise jaws made from gear teeth. It is a quite simple project, but at the same time irreplaceable in some situations.
For those who are curious - I used camshaft timing gear from an old VW diesel engine. You could easily source it in your local scrapyard with part number: 069 109 111

Finally a DIY channel that I can understand and everything is clearly explained. Even better these are tools I would actually use vs some of the others I have see. Excellent work. :)
Simpler version of a Fractal Vise. Great idea. Keep up the good work.

Brilliant, dude! Fantastic work!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
The way you did it was great and it made me like this video
Clever! We shared this video on our homemade tools forum this week 😎

That's so great. I like your videos
Well done 👏
Dude ! Love it. 🤙🏼
Now, I just gotta find some place to buy an old junk gear. It looks to be a cam gear? Sorry, I just saw you answered my question in your set up!
Awesome video expertly produced.well 👍
Sorry, this question is related to the glass block hole cutting short, not this video. Where would I get that glass cutting bit and what kind of cutting lubricant did you use? Thanks so much.
It's a carbide glass cutting hand pen or tool. If you search for a kit, they have some that come with the oil that you put in the handle that self lubricates while you cut. Hope you find it.
Thanks.
@@larsonbennett5903 Just remember Carbide is used to cut glass, so Carbide drill bits also cut glass. Just support the glass piece with some sort of sacrificial board when drilling into glass. Good luck. Also remember that Tempered Glass is not to cut or drill because it just shatters. Ask me how I know. Ha ha.
I was declaring bullshit, until the words "too tight" appeared on the screen, then I said, "WOW", I get it now. 😆 😀 😁

Nice

This is not a fractal vice. Not even close. And it´s very light duty and would break if any large force is applied to the part.
No it’s not fully one but it does work well enough.
BUILD SOMETHING BETTER IF YOU THINK YOU CAN......I LOVE SEEING AN EXCELLENT WAY OF HOLDING ODD BALL STUFF.....KEEP UP THE GOOD IDEAS...
Fine job! 👍
Annoying music 😖
