I’ve been using it and really enjoying it. I wouldn’t pay for the pro features, but I think it gives you a lot of flexibility for shooting

Great video! I agree. Have you used the Fjorden app with the Fjorden grip? It’s pretty cool. I’ve had one for about a year now.

      I haven’t, I’ll check it out!

      Leica just bought Fjorden company.

I like it, but my major issue is I am NOT willing to subscribe monthly for it. The germans, in general, have been obsessed lately with subscription-everything instead of just allowing for purchase. If there was a one time buy it price, it would capture my interest much more. I’ve used the free version and I do like it for when I only have my phone.

      Yeah I’m so over subscriptions

I didn’t understand who the app was for. I get what they’re going for with the experience, but it didn’t seem Leica quality, especially compared to their attention to detail and excellence in their main camera app. Completely agree with your points here, and thanks for the shoutout!

Totally, a very strange move. Happy to shout you out brother!

I can only imagine this is their way around the "Leica price" argument that gets thrown around. But man I just don't get it. I downloaded it, realized it was just a phone camera app that had nothing to do with interfacing the actual cameras, and deleted it immediately. lol. The only thing I honestly wish they'd do software wise is allow the ability to use the Q3 "looks" with M files on the Fotos app. I can't for the life of me understand why they'd restrict that feature from the owners/users of the halo cameras and reserve it for Q series. Odd choices.

I think the app is aimed at people like me; who are fascinated by the idea of Leica but can’t justify the money it’d take to get actual Leica gear. It’s a good gimmick but as you say in the review, the execution isn’t great so I don’t imagine too many people will pony up for the full subscription.

Damn, those photos are very nice. Why they did it , no idea. Maybe they should focus on on fixing AF on their flagship cameras like SL3,first.

Thanks Mike, yeah seems like an interesting move, but I’ll be interested in how they integrate it with their other app, if at all

I think this is for people that only shoot for social media. Never print your images and only go out shooting to upload every 10 minutes to social media will be fast and quick, since we do not see enough snapshots on social media feeds.

I don’t like it because on my 15 pro max It only gives me 12 or 48mp photos and not the standard 24

I like the app but I think the NOMO app does a better job. The Minilux and M3 are awesome.

@@lukasvanderlende it’s worth it to pay to get all the cameras IMO. The Leica app does a great job with the black and white though.

Leica has a long history of making bad marketing decisions (M5 anybody?), some of which almost put them out of business. I'm guessing the investment here (the acquisition of Fjorden) is not going to destroy them. The damage to their reputation, especially with established Leica users could be significant though.
I wish they had marketed this differently, as a quality alternative to existing phone apps, rather than a digital emulation? of existing Leica cameras/lenses.

Totally, crazy to place the lux lenses in the marketing
